Snowboarder Bo: Enough with the fucking quarry

I’ll vote for deliberate jerk.

It was a legitimate question, and I think you’ve answered it to the level of satisfaction for everyone to judge your character. You know it annoys people, but it makes you smile, so you continue.

I know, right? It’s like that one time when that one guy played a prank and PMed everyone that they were actually a girl as an April Fools prank. Some found it funny and some didn’t get it and failed to understand why others found it funny. In fact, one of the posters in the latter group was REALLY pissed off because it got him in trouble with his wife.

So, much like you say here now, in this case…that prank long ago wasn’t all that funny, but after some got pissed over it (like that one guy I mentioned above), it became absolutely hilarious. Right? Right?

You know, not long after I returned here, I made a post asking what the deal was with SB’s quarry line. Or maybe I PMed someone, I don’t remember which. Either way, it was explained to me and I thought “Okay, it’s SBs idea of a joke that didn’t work.” Now, I was always in contention for class clown in school, so I have a lot of experience with making jokes that don’t work.

So, when I read the quarry line, I think “Oh yeah, it’s that guy’s line. Whatever.” and read on. What now intrigues me is the amount of outrage his continued use of a moribund failed joke provokes. And he’s probably enjoying the controversy. It’s just a reference to a Creed Bratton line in one episode of The Office. Get over it! Save your righteous indignation for something less trivial. Or toss it down a deep hole.

What, I honestly answered a poll, as asked. That’s called “posting”. If people didn’t want to know what my answer to questions of morality are, they wouldn’t keep asking these sort of questions.

Or are only people who have the kind of grey morals you seem to approve of, allowed to post about morality on the board?

What, exactly, offends you about someone actually having fairly consistent moral principles?

Well, that would be because I’m right and they’re not  (Is that smug enough for you?)

Which is why we’re having this convo in PMs, all quiet-like :dubious:

My IRL friends tend not to ask me questions about killing Hitler, or display unrepentant racism - so, just to let you know a secret, for some of us, RL is nothing like this board. I can go whole hours without whipping out my smug face IRL.

Ah, so you’re mad that I wouldn’t do as you asked… yeah, see that means you weren’t asking, you were demanding.

Absolutely.

Well, when we’re discussing trollery, it’s hard to gauge motivations. Taking him at is word (and there’s no reason that we should) it’s a case of self-indulgence. It amuses him, annoys others and SB looks out for number 1. Sort of the inverse of Spock’s law.

I can however understand how typing one thing and getting a surprise could be amusing over many years. I’m guessing that for most people the effect would wear off, but… well actually I happen to be that simple minded, to be honest.

Your perceptions are skewed. TokyoBayer was asking whether you enjoyed the annoyance of others or whether you were just indifferent to it. One implies trollery, the other jerkitude though neither necessarily rises to the level of moderator attention following the 2012 discussion.

We’re not bullying you Snowboarder Bo, we’re raining on your parade. Also venting 3 years of mild frustration in like a week. It’s concentrated!

We are the lucky one’s. No is a 50something Headbanger’s with an attitude. Imagine being his neighbor. ‘Bo, would you please turn down the music. My kids are trying to sleep.’
‘Are you asking me or bullying me?’
Be glad he is only our internet neighbor.

Mea culpa.
My apologies to you, TokyoBayer for conflating your questions with White SIFL’s. Let me address them directly.

No, I don’t continue it because it annoys people. I’ve never said that or anything like that.

This seems to be same question as your first one, so the answer is the same: no, I don’t continue because it annoys people.

So you couldn’t get anywhere with your previous libelous claim, so now you try and make me out to be a law-breaker?

How’s that working out for you? :dubious:

Bullying and libel!!!

Quick, somebody shake his hand so he can cry rape as well.

Aye, just like you haven’t changed your name, even tho I told you it annoys me.

Just like you continue to wear that shirt that shirt or hang out with friend or listen to that music that annoys your spouse.

Just like your kid continues to like that TV show that annoys you.

Yeah, well, unlike your four-year-old, I’m not someone that you have any power over. And that seems to be what really bugs you (and a lot of other people): you’re mad because you cannot force me to do what you want me to do.

Previously you posted this:

Thank you for helping me demonstrate that people don’t actually ignore what I have to say. Well, you don’t ignore what I have to say. I suppose whether or not you qualify as “people” is a fair debate topic; do we extend that label to non-human species yet?

No, I’m not people, there’s only one of me.

It is nice that you think you scored a point though, this all must be so much fun for you. Don’t jerk yourself off too much though, pace yourself for the good times ahead.

…and you still haven’t put me on ignore yet, I see.

Why is that? Would it preclude your ability to troll in this thread? :dubious:

I mean, that’s the only reason you’re posting, isn’t it? To try and get a rise out of me?

The difference is he means it and you don’t

Don’t make me search your old posts about playing loud music.

Go ahead and search them. You’ll find that your further attempt to make me out to be a lawbreaker is also false.

I’ll readily admit to not giving a shit about annoying someone for a few seconds, just like you don’t give a shit when you annoy people for very brief periods. That’s just life.

Or maybe you actually do spout off at everyone wearing clothes you think are in poor taste, or have a bumper sticker you don’t like, or play sports you think are stupid, or any of the million other things that happen in public every day that annoy you. That would make you an asshole, IMO.

If you worked in an office and one of your coworkers wore a funny tie one day a week, would you start belittling him in front of the rest of the office because you think funny ties are stupid and it annoys you that he wears one?

Most of the people spouting off in this thread seem to be doing so because they are mad that I won’t do what they want, not because seeing “Let’s go to the quarry and throw stuff down there” annoys them so much. It’s already well within their power to never see that phrase ever again; the fact that they choose not to do what is in their power, but instead try to force me to do something, is what part of what makes some of y’all bullies (and bigger jerks than I am accused of being, IMO).

You don’t like seeing it? Put me on ignore. Or would that not be sufficient, because then you wouldn’t be able to bitch about it and call me names and try and defame me?

Am I trolling you? By calling you a fucknugget? But I really do think you are a fucknugget, I’m not just saying that to get a rise. I guess you would know more about trolling than I do, so I will defer to your lack of judgement.

Bullying, libeling, raping, trolling, poor little Bo really is put upon ain’t he just.
