My wife just sent me out to buy more Christmas decorations, and I noticed that most of the snowman decorations show Frosty holding a bird house on a long stick. Why? Is there some connection between snowmen and bird houses that I’m not aware of? I thought this might just be the artistic license of one Frosty decoration maker, but MOST of the Frosty stuff had these damn bird houses…
… and so, of course, after I go through all of that to prove to you that you’re just hallucinating, it’s actually a broom, I’m upstairs in the Reading Room just now, browsing through last Sunday’s K-Mart flier, and there on page 5, is a snowman gift tchotchke, and he’s holding a wee birdhouse on the end of a stick.
I have no clue what the idea is supposed to be. All I can guess is that a birdhouse is probably a lot easier to manufacture than a broom, being just a cutout sort of vaguely triangular shape. Or maybe it’s just that some enterprising graphics designer thought it up, and now EVERYBODY’S doing it.
I agree, it makes no sense.
ok, lets’ think about this.
Where would you find a snowman?
yes, that’s right, oursite in your yard.
what else might you find in your yard?
A fence, a tree, maybe a birdhouse???
just a thought
sorry about the sarcasm, I work in retail, this time of year really takes it out of ya.
When would you find a snowman outside? In the winter.
When do birds nest? In the spring.
There’s not much overlap.
Someone wasn’t thinking clearly when they thought this idea up.
oh my gawd! does this mean i’ve come up with a question for the world’s smartest human being?
Unca Cece - if you’re perusing this thread, what’s the dope?
I’m out. Pushes google links to center of table.
