Twitter is a microblog. You get 140 characters per post, and it’s handy if you want to just dash off a quick note or something that you want folks to see. (Mine’s here.) IMHO, the really interesting thing about it, I suppose, is that if you sign up to watch Barak Obama’s Twitter feed, a bot signs up to follow your feed, and he’s the only Presidential candidate who does this. Presumably, this means that there’s some kind of sorting system, wherein they spit out common topics so that someone at the Obama campaign has an idea of what people are Twittering about.
I love Twitter! 140 character blog posts are perfect for me - any longer and I’d never post because I “need to think about it, and I don’t have time right now”. Plus, I love posting updates from my phone - when I used to go out drinking on the weekends, that made for some interesting reading the next morning…
