Pretty much what everyone else has already said, 6 great seasons, 2 that weren’t great and a finale that should have the entire production team shot.
If nothing else, I was pleased to see that they did end up having three kids just like the crazy man from the future a couple of seasons ago said they would. If they’d managed to also indicate that she was a senator, I might’ve been kind of impressed.
<nod>
Maybe she could have been wearing a pantsuit with an American flag lapel pin. In the background two burly guys in suits and sunglasses with those transparent earpieces and a TV tuned to C-SPAN.
<gives treat>
It was a nice touch, IF that episode really happened. Maybe none of them did.
I want to know what happened to parallel-universe Beckett. Without Castle to help her, was she killed? Or continues to live with her mother’s murderer unpunished?
What a tacked-on travesty.
For a brief second, I thought “Holy crap, they’re going to have them die in each other’s arms, a la Romeo and Juliet. Now THAT’S a bold series finale!”
And then I realized, “Who am I kidding, this is network TV.” :mad:
The episode itself was probably the best of the season (aside from the ending), though that’s like saying it was the best tasting puke. Ah well, it was fun for longer than most series.
I like to think that, had Castle not entered her life, the precinct might instead have begun working with a far clumsier consultant who, on his first day, accidentally breaks the little figurine on her desk containing the tape that proved who murdered her mother. She gets peace of mind years earlier AND a promotion years earlier, since Montgomery would obviously be toast.
Me too. I thought that it was a moment that was going to redeem the last couple of seasons. But alas …
