So.. does ANYBODY drink caffeine free Coke Classic?

I’ve made this mistake twice now.
My wife is a confirmed Diet Coke addict. In order to keep her from bouncing off the walls, I’ve encouraged her to drink caffeine free Diet Coke.
But, dummy me, keeps buying Coke Classic, of the Diet variety (the boxes look the same to me)
My wife refuses to drink it, I don’t like it. On Monday I brought a twelve pack to work. Now, I work with people who gobble and gulp anything and everything, but this twelve pack has sat for 3 days now.

Does anybody drink this stuff, or does Coke just keep selling it by mistake?
Does anybody want a twelve pack? Free, just come get it!

Sorry, that should be NOT of the Diet variety

I like it okay. A while back I was trying to cut down on my caffeine intake, so I switched to Caffeine Free Coke. I didn’t want to go to Diet Coke, because I’d rather drink my own urine than drink that stuff.

Problem is, you can’t get it anywhere when you eat out. You can get every variety of Coke, but you can’t get that one. So I’d end up getting water instead. Eventually I realized that water was free, available everywhere, had no sugar or caffeine, quenched thirst, and tasted just fine to me, so I went with that.

These days I have the occasional Coke when I go out to eat, but more often than not I just drink water.

For the record, I tasted absolutely no difference between real Coke and Caffeine-Free Coke.

All’s I drink is caffeine-free coke (or pepsi).

Happy

No thanks. I’ve got two cases I acquired the same way you did. I’m just going to bequeath it to the next person who gets my office. I think she’s LDS anyway, so maybe she’ll appreciate the gesture.

I also drink it - interchangably with the caffeine stuff - but I perfer the decaf. Can’t taste the difference and I really don’t need the caffeine - not that I’ve banned it from my diet, just that I’ll avoid it where there is an easy choice.

Bring it to work, bring it to the next party you go to. Someone will drink it.

My cousin’s son has ADHD, so the only soda pop they have in the house is Caffein-Free-Diet-Coke. I mix it with Captain Morgan for a diet cocktail whenever I’m over there.

My bosses bosses secretary just took one, only 11 more! Hurry, they’re going fast.
At this rate, they’ll be here 'til Thanksgiving.

I drink it in Rum ‘n’ Coke (so I’m not speedballing). I taste no difference, but I love the non-buzz.

I can’t even find caffeine-free Coke around here. Of course, I’m not really looking for it, either…if I want a caffeine-free pop, I’ll drink root beer or something.

Love the stuff. Caffeine free Dr. Pepper as well.

I try to drink only the caffeine-free colas, if I can. They’re damnably hard to find in a lot of places. I prefer Pepsi to Coke, myself. And I like it, but not enough to go to Duluth for it.

I LOVE Coke Classic – but I’m not supposed to drink caffeine (in large amounts, anyway – I still avoid it because I don’t like the feeling of my heart jumping out of my chest). And I sure don’t need the sugar, acid, and chemicals. When I’m being “good” I drink water or ginger ale or root beer (no diet soda EVER for me – yuck!). When I want a little indulgence, I get CFCC. When I’m feeling really “naughty,” I get the pretty little red cans, what Mr. S calls “Real Authentic Classic Coke with Extra Caffeine.”

I don’t like CFCC as much as regular Coke – it definitely is missing some bite. Not as fizzy or sharp-tasting? It’s hard to quantify. But it’s a marginally acceptable substitute.

Send all your extra packs of CFCC to Tara!

I only drink caffeine-free sodas too. I buy Coke or Pepsi, whicever is on sale that week. In my opinion it’s identical tasting. In fact, my SO wondered outloud why the caffeine is in there at all. “To make it addictive” I replied. He was, actually, slightly shocked.

I [heart] caffeine-free Coke!

I drink caffeine free coke, and diet caffeine free coke. I notice no huge difference between regular and caffeine free.

I hate diet drinks AND I don’t like Coke, so no problem there.
I prefer pepsi, but diet leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I don’t need diet anyway!

Dr. Pepper rules!

I like caffeine free Coke Classic… I’m a terrible insomniac, but I love fizzy drinks. The caffeine free Dr. Pepper is good too. Sometimes I think there’s a difference in taste, other times I can’t tell. You get a huge variation in taste when you get in restaurants anyway… and here in Texas half the time you ask for Coke and get a Pepsi. Sometimes I don’t even notice.

I like the stuff, too. While I haven’t yet done a side-by-side comparison, I can’t taste any difference from the caffeinated standard variety, either. (As a point of reference, Coke and Pepsi taste nothing alike to me.)

I drink it at home because it’s usually pretty easy to find in grocery stores around here. In restaurants it’s pretty much unheard-of, so I just drink Classic there.

The diuretic effect of caffeine seems to be quite profound with me, and I kind of like not having to go to the bathroom quite so often.

Caffeine Free Diet Coke… manna from heaven!

It’s on TAP at Hometown Buffet near my home!
