So February has sucked so far...

Day 14 of the “cold” from hell. Seriously, I’ve not been so sick for so long for as long as I can remember.

I turned 50 on the 3rd. Great. I spent the day in bed. Woohoo. Way to celebrate the milestone.

My mother in law passed away on the 4th. A blessing, actually, since she’s been in the grips of dementia for the last 8 years. But it was still hard. I miss her former self. Went to the funeral in Indiana. It snowed all day.

On the 8th, my aunt died. Another blessing, to be sure, as she has been in her own living hell since her 3rd stroke a month ago. I can’t attend the funeral. I’ve already missed too much work being sick and going to the MIL’s funeral. Sad realization that I have only one living uncle who is also unable to attend the funeral.

February, and 50 sucks.

I’m sorry. My condolences for your mother-in-law and aunt. And health issues are always rough; I hope you recover soon.

February hasn’t been great for me, either, though to a much lesser extent. Without going into detail, it feels like my wife and I have been getting pummeled on all sides since November.

Just got two more huge doses of bad news yesterday and today, actually. Here’s hoping that things start to turn up for all of us soon. Hang in there. You’re not alone.

You belie your user name. Cheer up. Winter is always hell. We had 30 cm over the weekend and are in the middle of a predicted 15 cm now.

I’ll be going home for the funeral after all. On Tuesday my cousin (and Godmother) was diagnosed with a very aggressive glioblastoma and given weeks to live. I need to say goodbye.

On a positive note, I will enjoy visiting with relatives that I haven’t seen in over 15 years since leaving the Cheesehead State.
