So, how did that Y2K debate end? The one on what to call this decade?

Here’s 2002 coming up and I’m not clear if any answer has emerged.

In '90 we could instantly talk about '90s cars and '90s music.

What have you been calling this decade?

The 2000’s?
The Naughts?
Ought One?

The radio stations I listen to fudge with “Music from the 80’s, 90’s and Today”

Will it be “Today” for all ten years because we can’t make up our minds?

Here’s what Cecil had to say. No definite answers.

I’m sticking with The Naughties.

You said it yourself, or almost: The 2Ks.

So far I’ve only used ‘this decade’ but only like … once.

drat, hit enter prematurely

… and I think that’s basically the approach people are taking. Everybody’s waiting for someone else to name it so they can move on.

While we’re are it what is the next decade again? Not the teens is it?

It’s the 2Ks. Move on.
