Argh, it’s very frustrating being an English -speaking PC gamer in Korea.
Sure I can get get things like Warcraft III and Starcraft in English, but what about Diablo 2? Or Dungeon Siege? Only in hangul, I’m afraid.
So, I can find the latest games here at decent prices, that ain’t a problem. But what about in my language? Sure, I 'm working on my Korean, but it will be at least 2 years before I can understand half of the Korean text in a computer game.
So, the way I see it, I have these options:
-
Buy the game in Korean, and hope to dear God that I can find a program to translate it.
-
Order the game from a site like Amazon.com, and pay anywhere from 2 to 3 times what it’s worth, thanks to @#$%ing shipping costs.
-
Use ahem less-than-legal methods to obtain a copy that will not work as well as a legal version, and most likely can’t be updated to the latest version.
-
Wait until @#$%ing May 2003 when I can finally go back to Canada, and scoop up a truckload of games to take to Korea
Argh, how frustrating. Other than that, Korea’s a pretty good place to live.
