I’m not sure what they all are, but I’ve got one from the job I worked last year over winter break, one from the job I worked over the summer, and one from my job I had at school.
One W-2 for me, four 1099s for Mr. Legend, and a slew of various forms from the mortgage company, the car dealer (we bought a hybrid), charities, our investment firm, and the state (so that we can declare the tiny rebate they sent us last year and pay federal taxes on that - it may end up costing us more in time than it was worth). Altogether, we’ve got twelve or thirteen tax documents plus a ream of paper we’ll have to store for the next seven years in order to back up our deductions.
And we’re both so anal that we’re compelled to do the taxes ourselves because we don’t trust any of the reasonably-priced companies’ employees to know the codes better than we do.
