So, how's your baby?

Yay! Try to go to the appt if you can, RMac. There is a special kind of bonding that occurs when you see that little astronaut floating on its tether. A tiny, perfect, miniature person, kicking, stretching, growing and waiting to meet you.

My baby just had her birthday yesterday… I still am amazed every day at what she does and learns every day. Since it was a holiday, we didn’t get the cupcakes to her friends until today. They absolutely tore into them… could have been since they just won their game and were a bit sweaty. They thanked me and got in their cars and drove home. My baby turned 18 yesterday, but she is still my baby.

Youngest is sixteen months. She loves chocolate, cats and figuring out ways to pull the gate from the staircase when she thinks I am not looking. Here’s Miss Charlotte on Cape Cod last July.

My baby is 14 and has a girlfriend so no more about him in this thread!

You all have adorable babies and should post more pics and details. Everyone who has been through taking care of a baby themselves can relate … and in the case of us older folks, sigh nostalgically a bit.

Terr, that’s hilarious about your baby swiping the pages of a magazine. Of course! It makes perfect sense.

Thanks for the compliment - it’s hard now that he’s sleeping through the night and here I am, getting up to pump at 4am, but it’s important to me so I just have to slog through. There was one point about two weeks ago where I thought breasfeeding was going to work; he latched & successfully nursed five times in a row and it was great. But then suddenly he didn’t anymore, and hasn’t since then. Oh well.

I think there needs to be a special warning for pictures that combine adorable toddlers with tiny kittens. My heart just about stopped from all the cute.

Ha! I do that too sometimes. It’s really interesting thinking about how our kids will grow up with technology that basically didn’t exist just a couple of years ago.

I’m really loving all the baby pics in this thread! Great idea, Zjestika! And now for some pictures of my awesome baby: taking his first bath, playing on the activity mat, and catching a nap.

I pumped exclusively for 15 months with my daughter. If you ever want to talk or vent, feel free to PM me.

My daughter will be 2 next month. She loves to sing and has the ABCs down. Counting, however, is more challenging (1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 6, 7, 8, 7!). She loves to color and draw on her chalkboard, Barbies, and playing outside. Her favorite toys are a little farmer that came in a tube of farm animals, and a plastic yellow and green spider we got at a garage sale for 5 cents. She talks all the time. She’s also pretty cute.

Gee, iftheresaway, I remember when you said your due date was 11 days away, and that wasn’t very long ago. Babies really do grow fast!

I don’t have children of my own, but I do like hearing how other people’s children are doing.

Oh yes, I definitely plan on being there for that appointment. I’ve gone to the last couple of ones and got to hear the heartbeat each time. It’s weird. I’m excited to hear the heartbeat, but once the doctor takes the thing out I freak out. What if she can’t find anything? Thank God that that hasn’t been the case.

Sadly, there’s only one heartbeat so the baby won’t be a Timelord.

My adorable baby just turned eight and started third grade this fall. She has lots of good friends and loves reading everything she can get her hands on.

Your babies are all so very cute. I love babies. They are so sweet.

So nobody’s baby is being a colicky little shit? You guys are all part of the “have a baby” conspiracy!

Not colic, but I had a ‘refuses to sleep’ baby that just about did for me.

Made it through the mutual sleep deprivation (just as well she was otherwise so amazing, is all I can say), now she’s 13 and 3/4 and I can barely wake her up!

Mostly it’s my big kids I want to strangle. The babies are cute. Difficult because there’s two of them, but cute.

My baby had her first of 2 (so far) shrieking gas pain freakouts at 3 months and I had no idea what to do. And I was at work for a quick meeting. It was mortifying because I had to confess to everyone that I had no clue how to take care of a screaming baby. Normally I stick a boob in her and she’s fine! I work at a hospital and I was about to take her down the hall to the ER, luckily my very nice co-workers assured me it was just gas and hung out with me while I patted her until she burped, then she smiled at everyone and passed out.

Other than that she’s incredibly easy. Babies are easy, you should have one.

My baby is 18 months already, it seems hard to believe.

She talks ALL THE TIME. Occasionally with real words, mostly with her own babbling. Sometimes when she wakes up, I will listen outside the door – she will be in her crib, contentedly chatting away. It’s funny to me how her baby babble has the same inflections and cadences as a real English conversation.

Here she is, this was taken in a barn at the children’s zoo:

Man, I wish someone had given me the advice Zjestika mentioned above about doing the shots while nursing. This is a great idea.

Heh, my baby is 5 and just started kindergarten. Last night he got ketchup on his school shirt and I said “Dang, I was hoping that you’d be able to wear that for another day or two” to him about it.

later that night, he was brushing his teeth getting ready for bed and I noticed that I had a bit of ketchup on my T-shirt (in my defense, I was the one preparing dinner for everyone plus I cleared the table. Yeah, that must be what happened). I showed it to the Boy who, in a deep voice, replied “Dang, I was hoping you’d be able to wear that for another day or two.”

Last week, he was discussing Rod and Todd Flanders with his teacher during quiet time.

That kid cracks me up.

Lily is now 2.5 and into everything. Today, she poured out all of my (favorite, they don’t make it anymore, hoarded for Really. Special. Occasions ONLY) perfume. It was a concentrated oil, so… the house smells. Strongly. Good thing she’s cute! (Cite We stopped for beignets while in Louisiana recently. She Floved them!)

Michelle is 6.5 months, and a terrifically easygoing kid. She watches the world very carefully, and I suspect that she will be far less adventurous than her wild and wacky sister. Here she is holding herself in a standing position.

Here’s me with all of my “babies” last month. They grow up so fast!

My baby will be 11 in November and starts middle school tomorrow. I’m more nervous about it than she is. :open_mouth:

My “baby” is now deep in the “terrible twos” stage. Every time we ask him a question, or tell him to do something, the first response, hardly more than a reflex action, is for him to say, “No!”.

Despite that, he is still amazingly cute and, oftentimes, totatally charming.

First baby: just finished the first week of 5th grade. She is growing up to a be a confident, caring, beautiful and amazing young lady. She has been through a shit storm with her dad passing recently, but she is functioning the best way she can and I am proud of her.

Second baby: Is going to be nine months old soon. She is a cutie pie. Overall, a pretty mellow baby but she is teething at the moment and has gone back to waking up a few times in the night.

They keep me sane and sometimes drive me insane. But I love them to pieces!

My one year old isn’t colicky, but he is currently being a little shit. I have said more than once, that if I had him first, there would not have been a second child.

He absolutely refuses to sleep unless I am right next to him. Even then sometimes that is not enough. I just spent over an hour upstairs with him. I gave up and passed the torch to my husband. I am pretty much at my wits end with that one.

On the plus side the three year old is finally potty trained. Now I just need to figure out how to ween her off of potty treats.
