Very cute. My GF OhFace has like five tattoos. Me, I’m keeping my skin pure with zero. I took her out looking for artists this past weekend. I’m sure you’ll catch the ink bug like everyone else does.
I’ve wanted this tattoo since I was 16, and I’m 25 now, so it’s been on my mind for a while.
It’s a Leonard Cohen drawing, the order of the unified heart. LC is my favourite writer, and I love the design. I got it done on my ankle, which you can’t tell from the photo.
Oh wow, that’s really pretty/cute/neat/etc! I have been meaning to get a tattoo for a long damn time now, but I can’t figure out what or where. I think I’ll get one this summer to commemorate my getting married. Would you mind if I copied yours? Would that make you feel bad because it’s not original anymore? Because I would totally understand if you did.
While I can’t speak for Rebekkah, just copying someone else’s tattoo is generally considered less than optimal. But if you used this as the inspiration for a design and tweaked the shape, color, and shading until they’re exactly what you want, you would be able to make it your own.
Meh. I thought the idea was original until I was looking at some pics from a recent Leonard Cohen convention and there were two girls with the same tattoo, one on her arm and the other on her back. That being said, the original design looks nothing like mine. For starters, I got mine done in black ink with shading, and this one is gold and red. I doubt I’d be the first person to think of getting two intertwined hearts done, but you should know that the original design is two intertwined hearts forming the star of david, FWIW.
Take it into an artist, tell them you like the concept, and ask them to reinterpret it, my opinion only.
Wow, congratulations! I honestly wish I could get a tattoo, but alas, I am too young for such pleasures of life. And my parents are totally against the idea, but I’m probably going to end up getting one after I graduate high school, anyways.
That’s really pretty. I have a little green lizard in pretty much the same spot. I’ve thought a few times about getting another, but I haven’t wanted to enough to do it.
I have one that I waited 25 years to get. I have a blue scorpion, with a red rose in one of it’s claws, on my shoulder. (I’m a Scorpio.) The worst thing about it is I can’t see it! I want another one that’s more visible.
