Hoorah! I got a letter published in **The Guardian ** newspaper this morning, first one I’ve had on the main letters section.
It’s on this page …
… about half-way down (on the german origins of the term “welshing”).
Am expecting it to be comprehensively rubbished in tomorrow’s edition, but am chuffed that they’ve included it today.
(to be filed under “little things whose ability to cause happiness is out of all proportion to what you’d expect”
)
My mum’s dead proud too (bless!) :o
Welcome to the club. Personally, I lost count years ago.
It’s a great feeling, innit?
Well done, e-logic! I stopped letter-writing to editors years ago – but the challenge was extremely cool while it lasted.
I popped my cherry on a letter to People magazine about 20 years ago.
You may bow down and worship me.
Sun Times for me - letter to the editor AND three different letters in QT (you Chicagoans will know who QT is.
)
I once got an email from British Heritage magazine stating that they were going to publish my letter in their next issue.
I never got that issue, so I never saw it. It’s been years now, so I’m over it, really. <sob>
Congrats to you. <cries into Kleenex> It’s a proud moment. <sigh>
