So I just got done chasing the cat around the house with the hamper...

We have “Ambush the Kitty” followed by “Enforced Lovins”. What happens: cat is casually walking by the sofa/bed/whatever, and my husband will grab up the cat and wrap his arms around the cat. Usually said cat tries to get away, having been startled by the grab. Of course, he doesn’t let the cat go, but proceeds to pet the cat as the cat struggles to get away and/or starts “growling”. Sometimes the cat relaxes and enjoys the pet, sometimes not, depends on the cat.
I like to play “Bowling For Kitties”, where I take a couple jingle balls or foam balls and roll them down the hallway, with cats chasing them hither and yon. It’s even more fun when I stand at the bottom of the stairs and they run up & down- plus the balls bounce right back to me!
We like to use the laser pointer as well, but you have to be careful not to shine the laser in the cat’s eyes.
My cat Olli’s favorite toy is a plastic drinking straw. Whenever we eat fast food I save the straw. He carries it in his mouth, up and down the stairs.
