I use moslty Inkscape - a free program. Most of the time I use photos to guide me.
Do you use a drawing tablet? I’ve got one, and crave advice on how to use it.
(Specifically, how to put the pen back down on the tablet exactly where I want. I keep having to put it down near where I want, and then drawing a very short unwanted line, in order to get back to where I actually wanted to start drawing. How do you do “hand/eye” coordination when you can’t see? Are there drawing tablets that display the image, sort of like a touch-screen tablet?)
(Are any of them both cheap and not wholly trash?)
Yay drawing! I like your pics!
There is some seriously impressive stuff there. Nice.
Nope, everything done with a mouse.
It is a matter of getting used to the thing when wirking with tablets. There sure must be a setting for pen position x mouse position.
As for the display-tablet - Be prepared to spend 1000 dollars on a wacom-cintiq.
Thanks!
Cool!
I especially like the close-up face portraits. I love the one of the brunette in white.
I have only recently been experimenting with using the computer for drawings.
I draw by hand with a Sharpie- outlines only, no shading- then I scan to the computer and paint in the colors.
Those look pretty good, Artemis. I like the accuracy of the lines, something I’m struggling with at the moment.
I hover. When I hold the pen, the tip of my middle finger is what drags across the tablet, so the pen is about 5mm above it. This allows the pointer to still move but no actions are taking place. Then I press it down onto the tablet, which is left-click, and that’s when it activates.
Yes, but they are at the expensive end of the spectrum. Cintiq.
