Puppy dogs and little boys are cute. I know women tell other women “That guy is cute!” meaning his physical attributes are appealing. For a lot of guys, I think there’s a red flag that goes up with that word.
I’m known women who don’t like being called “sweet” because it implies “not dating material…too goody-goody or something, the kid sister of the woman I’m dating.” “Cute” for guys is along those lines IMO.
And don’t get me wrong: sweet? I’m all over sweet, love sweet, so long as it isn’t too goody-goody. I dated a woman the other night who I think is pretty sweet. But I didn’t tell her that because I didn’t want to create a misunderstanding.
Good luck to you
Does she have an Aunt?
“Nice” is the kiss of death, in my neck of the woods.
Uh oh. The code’s been broken guys!
Quick, start calling it “idle rambling”!
::cheering you on::
Thanks, everyone. I have no idea what will happen; it’s just great to have the world saying something other than ‘No’ to me for a change.
Thanks!
[sub]You’ve always been one of my Hopeless Doper Crushes too…[/sub]
Yay Sunspace! That kind of OP makes me miss those giddy OMG-this-person-is-awesome crushes… I’m not supposed to have those anymore, being hitched and all, but it really is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world.
Good luck!
Oh, no. Cute is definitely good, at least in MY generation.
Dittos here. I can’t recall off the top of my head any female friends of mine describing another guy as “cute” and it not being anything but completely positive in an “I’m interested in him” sort of way. “Nice” can be code for “I like him, but I’m not interested,” but not “cute,” in my experience.
IME, “nice” is a codeword for “girlfriend” or “loser.” But sometimes, on rare occasion, it means “I want him to slip me the sausage.”
Congrats, SunSpace! You deserve happiness!
Cute is definitely good.
Thought I’d reply to this…
Hey, Booker57!
Alas, I know nothing of her family, yet. But I’ll keep my eyes open…
Yee haw! Just in time to enjoy Toronto’s summer. Free concerts at Harborfront - the perfect opportunity to invite someone into town for the evening!
“You’re cute” is always good, I think, except when followed by “… but …”
