So I need surgery...

And I can honestly say that I haven’t been this scared in quite a while.

It all started a few months ago when I would wake up and my entire leg would be a sleep. Well yesterday something finally gave in and it wouldn’t start circulating.

Went to the ER, and the doctor said that I have a blocked nerve. I not quite sure what that means, but I’m going to have surgery with in the next few months. :frowning:

I have an irrational fear of the medical profesion in general, so I’m really, really nervous, and will be until this is over and done with. I just can’t help but think “what if…” :frowning:

But on the other hand, what if you don’t get the surgery? I don’t know how serious a blocked nerve is, but it sounds serious. If comfort and functioning are at stake, undergoing surgery is worth it if it can fix you right up.

With luck, things will go smoothly, and once you see that things can and do go smoothly in medicine, your fear will be lessened.

I am sorry you have to go through this. Take care.

And welcome to the SDMB!
