So I saw the sneak preview to ''Hearts In Atlantis'' Friday night-(possible spoiler)

Pretty good movie. Pretty close to the book, IMHO (I’ve only read the book once, but I just started re-reading it). Anthony Hopkins wouldn’t have been my first choice for Ted Bauttigan, but he pulled it off. Would have done a better job if he’d have disguised his British accent. All in all, I enjoyed it. The movie only covers the first story, though…Few minor inconsistancies with the book, but all in all, it was enjoyable. David Morse as the narrator and adult Bobby was a little unexpected (I’ve heard almost no hype about this movie), but a nice touch. See it.

Wow, did that sneak up on me. I wasn’t even aware there was a movie in the works, and they’re already up to the sneak preview stage?

Am I the only one who put down the book in disgust after reading the first story?
I LOVED the relationship between Jack and the boy throughout the story, never sure what Jack’s intentions were. I didn’t know if he was truly a ‘bad man’ like his mother feared, or if he just wasn’t quite right in the head, but when the low men DID show up to bring him back, I was thoroughly disappointed.
I have always enjoyed how King hints at other books here and there throughout his writing, like the Castle Rock continuity, the slight hint to the Gunslinger books in “Insomnia”, and Randall Flagg/Walking Man’s reoccurence, but this time he went too far. His focus was on the relationship between the two and the arrival of the low men, to me was just a cop out.
I might go back (now that the movie is out) and try finishing the book, but I cannot help but think I’ll feel better reading “Black House” instead.

It was like a freakin’ Indian Curse on me and this movie this weekend. We tried to go see it Friday, but got out the door too late and didn’t want to miss the first 15 minutes, so we went to Jay & Silent Bob instead. Sunday, we tried again, but despite the listings on Moviefone (which were, I guess wrong) the movie wasn’t being shown anymore. Just two showings this weekend since it’s in preview mode. So for the 2nd time we showed up at the movie theatre and had to select something else on the spot. We saw The Closet.

Now I’m almost afraid to try to see this movie when it’s really released. Probably get a flat tire on the way there or get struck by lightning in the parking lot.
