So I suppose I'm the only one who cares about a new Rush album?

I figured as much!

Clockwork Angels, June 12th my friends!

Tour to follow! Who wants to join me in Charlotte or Charleston?

Dear God, a trailer for the album can be found here: Billboard – Music Charts, News, Photos & Video

No, you’re not! I’m quite excited over it and can’t wait for the tour!

It’s been way too long since the last one

The conceptual set will trace a protagonist’s journey through a world of steampunk, alchemy and an exotic carnival

Oooh, I like the idea of it.

I just never know if I actually* like Rush, or if I just like the “popular” singles by them.

I know I love YYZ, Tom Sawyer, and I like/enjoy “The Spirit of Radio” and “Limelight”.

Any suggestions for if I like those 4 songs, what Rush album should I consider getting into?
I own Exit… Stage Left… but I’m not super enthused about it. But i WANT to be enthused by Rush. Help a guy out?

Note that the album is co-written by Kevin J. Anderson, Brian Herbert’s coauthor on the Dune prequels.

Absolutely cannot wait for Clockwork Angels. My boys haven’t done a concept piece in, what, 30 + years; since Hemispheres? I love Caravan and BU2B, and the new single Headlong Flight is being released on April, 12. Also, Anderson is writing a novelization of the album, not co-writing the album. More on the album.

I would suggest my three favorite albums: Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, and Moving Pictures. There’s some conceptual stuff as well as shorter self contained songs. Also, 2112, Signals, and I really like Test for Echo.

Not exactly, there will be a novelization of the album released this fall co-authored by Peart and Anderson.

Am I excited? I don’t know does listening to a 30 second clip of one song several times a day make me excited? I did get home from work the day it was released and the first thing I did was show it to my kids, who rocked out to it. I am checking rushisaband.com almost hourly to see if the entire song has been leaked.

I mean sure, I will probably pick up the album when it comes out or whatever.

I care.

But I don’t think I can look forward to a southeast Asia tour.

Have they shifted the keys for the songs to fit Geddy’s new and lower vocal register? Hearing him (on various recent Youtube videos) try to hit those high notes that he can no longer reach is painful.

I saw them on the last tour. It had been a while. I’m really liking what I have heard from this one.

Why would anyone care about a band that can’t make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Yeah, you fans are likely to make up some cheap excuse or reason. After all, any distraction may assist in tempering the ugly truth.

I care. I’d never be able to see them live again, but I can live vicariously through my big brother, who will go anywhere in the country to see them.

Your username just shed a tear.

Nice! Headlong Flight (based on the 30 second trailer) sounds awesome already!

Also…BU2B2? Interesting.

This was news to me. Cool. The sound of their last couple of Albums hasn’t been my favorite so I am hoping they are moving into their next era.

Seems like they are returning to concept albums as well. Could be fun.

Headlong Flight is on RollingStone.com.

I’ll be in my bunk.

Listening now. Good stuff!

You missed out A Farewell to Kings there, without which Hemispheres hasn’t got a part I…

My friend cleaned Alex Lifeson’s house for a year.

That must have been one dirty house!
(BTW, did anyone pick up on my Subdivisions reference?)
