So, I'm back from the land of the lost.

I finally got a computer up and running, and have made it back to the Dope. (To find myself subscribing, because I’ve missed so much!)

Not much has happened to me since I last posted.

I got engaged on Christmas Day. If ya wanna see a pic of the actual proposal, you can go here Just ignore the fact that the kitchen is a mess. We had just finished feeding everyone Christmas dinner, and no one had started to do dishes just yet. And yes, the Boyfriend is now the Fiancee. The wedding is September 18, in Charleston, SC, if you care.

I also got my gall bladder taken out. If you wanna see a pic… heh. Just kidding. Actually, my doctor said I had one of the biggest gallstones he had ever seen. And I have learned not to ask for pain meds in a hospital, because it makes people think that you are not actually in pain, but that something inside you is wrong. (They quit giving me pain meds at 5 in the morning for a test that was done at 2 in the afternoon. It was an incredibly painful experience, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Well, maybe a few ex-boyfriends…) Just imagine a sharp, searing pain when you breathe, lay still, move, blink, think. I think I would have rather passed that gallstone. Oh yeah, and they figured out the reason I was in pain was because I’d had surgery the day before.

Oh yeah. And I turned 30 on March 4th. Somehow, 30 is precariously similar to 29. I don’t feel 30. What exactly is 30 supposed to feel like?

Anyways, I’m off to work. I just thought I’d get my money’s worth starting today.

I’m so glad to see you again! You’re on my IM buddy list, but I never saw you on line and I wondered what became of you. Unfortunately, my sweetie is no longer in Baltimore, but has moved to Solomons, so I guess I’m not likely to get to meet you till after I move. (2 more months, I hope!)

Anyway, welcome back and welcome to the ranks of the gallbladderless! I actually did send out an email with a photo of my belly and arrows indicating where the scars are! It was that or use it for that year’s Christmas card!

Welcome home, we’ve rented out your room, that’ll be $5, please.

Catonsville has Sleestaks? Heh.

So. You and Fiancee need to get together with us soon. We promise, no internet porn movies will be filmed.

Happy birthday, I hope you’re all better now and congratulations!

So, did your gallbladder make it to thirty, too?

Heh. My gallbladder made it to 29 and 11 months. I guess it was time to get rid of it anyways.

The Fiancee (or is it only one ‘e’ if it’s the guy? It’s been too long since high school french class.) has been running around the house calling me Bridezilla. He’s a dink, because he hasn’t even SEEN what a Bridezilla is capable of. Wait until I start ordering things off the 'net.

FCM, Solomans isn’t too terribly far from us. We’ll have to have some sort of “Official Baltimoron Welcome” for you!

Ginger, that sounds good. We’ve been running around like crazy mad-people recently, because Ben’s got shows coming out the wazoo. One of his comedian buddies also passed away last Friday, and he’s been helping to organize a benefit for the guy’s wife and 3 kids, so right at the moment, we’re booked solid. But once the weather gets nicer, we’ll actually be able to get out more often during the weekend/daytime.

Thanks for the welcome back and the good wishes. It feels so good to be home!

I love the expression on your face in that proposal photo. It looks like you’re thinking, “You’re just saying this to get out of doing the dishes, aren’t you?”

Congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials, and the succesful removal of a portion of your guts.

Skerri, honey, whatever happened to pbrtallboy? We used to exchange really hot email when I first joined the SDMB. Does he have a LiveJournal? What’s up with him? He’s a hottie.

Heh. He’s busy living la vida loca in Atlanta. Last I heard from him was a couple of months ago. He came to B-more to visit a friend, and said he was moving to D.C. Haven’t heard from him since. His work banned any non-work related website, so for a while he couldn’t even check his email. I’m not sure if he ever got a home computer or not.

But when I do hear from him, I’ll tell him you said hi.

Don’t ask me; to me it feels like something way, way back in the rearview mirror!

Congrats on your engagement!

Congratulations on the engagement and Happy Birthday! Thirty? Big deal - you’re still young.
Some of us are looking 40 square in the face. I think I’ll just skip my next birthday and stay 39 forever.
