I’m not sure if they have maple sugar candy, but one of the first things you will notice is how extremely greedy WPI is with pricing everything within the campus center. Keep in mind that the same 1.25 soda that they are selling can be bought for .85 around the corner at a vending machine. I know that they do have an assortment of candy, but with those prices I never buy any of it. One load of laundry is gonna cost you $2.50.
Yes. And stuffed goats. BTW - whenever possible avoid buying ANY textbooks from the bookstore. They maliciously mark up prices above retail, which is probably illegal to begin with. I got my Systems Analysis book for $40 on amazon…they were charging $129!
That said, since when is Bryn Mawr a sister school to Haverford and Swarthmore? Bryn Mawr is a women’s college (one of the Seven Sister, in fact), but haven’t H. and S. always been co-ed?
Dems fightin’ words!!! Bryn Mawr is a perfectly good Welsh phrase that means “Great Hill” (well, literally “hill great,” but one takes a little liberty with the syntax of translated text).
Just out of curiousity, how are you pronouncing it?
Congratulations to those who have heard, and good luck to those who haven’t yet.
Davidbw1, I was rejected from Swarthmore early decision but accepted in the regular round later (many years ago). Call Admissions and see if they’ll give you ideas for improving your application for regular admissions.
It never seemed fair that those people from The Other School got to be Bryn Martyrs, but we were Swarthmorons. Oh, well.
I’d always heard of Bryn Mawr as just being a sister school to Haverford…but live and learn. A friend of mine goes to Bryn Mawr. It’s always been all female, as it’s part of the Seven Sisters. (Well, technically, six. Five if you don’t count Vassar.)
