My contribution to this thread is to note that this remark above appears to be likening the ‘moderator loop’ to the Ent Council in the fantasy novel series The Lord of the Rings. Ent Councils were known to consume inordinate amounts of time, as trees do nothing quickly.
How droll. Very amusing. I am pleased that the moderating staff are taking their time in considering what is best to be done regarding the issues that have arisen in The Game Room forum and I wish them well in their deliberations but not, note, godspeed.

A bit. If you glance at the rightmost 2 columns of the forum, though, there are generally many times more viewers than posters. I take them into consideration when deciding whether some obscure bit of trivia from some long-forgotten movie or novel series is sufficiently amenable to their perusal as well.
Everyone is welcome here, even those who choose only to lurk, as I did for many years. Like many a politician and well-rounded celebrity, I elect to not forget my roots.
I brought this subject up before. It lead to some, let’s call them “testy”, PMs between me and Colibri. I know it’s bad form to quote a PM, but, well…
When a mod sends a PM like that to a poster, I think it should be out in the open.
This is not the thread for you to complain about Colibri.

I can’t speak for Colibri, but in their enforcement duties moderators are free to use whatever mechanism gets your attention as appropriate.
Tuba, I’m not going to belabor about Colibri, I just thought it was way out of line.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand. This is really about Idle Thoughts. There used to be a rule. It said:

Please explain how that is not a blatant case of rewriting the rules to suit himself?
This isn’t and wasn’t the subject at hand…the subject of this OP is asking about what is going on with the Game Room, and that’s been answered.
As has been explained to you a few times now, by other mods and by myself, the rule was modified (yes, by yours truly) because it was outdated.
This thread is now closed since the OPs question was answered.
Please do not make another thread about the Game Room, as discussion is still going on. We’ll try to keep posters updated somehow, maybe via the Game Room sticky.
Since you’ve chosen to make this public, it would be appropriate to put it in context. You had said in a previous PM to me that you would continue to open threads in ATMB about this subject, contrary to moderator instructions, “as a protest” and just in order to be annoying to the mods, That would be abuse of the purpose of ATMB, and would justify a warning. Telling you that is hardly inappropriate.
Just an update: We’ve pretty much wrapped up discussing it and an announcement about it will be coming soon. A lot of the staff members are busy this time of year, so it may be another week, but it will come. We have still been talking it over and sorting/planning things out.
