My favorite thing in the whole world is to get out of a nice hot shower, with freshly shaved legs after a long mind-numbing day of classes and a nice 20 miler. Put on the jammies, lotion up, snuggle under my satin covers, and flip between Oprah and the Lifetime Network and…and…
hmm, I think I need to call my girlfriend to reaffirm somethings
Actually, Mike’s right, we shave for when we fall so that the cleaning and healing process is faster. I also do it to pick up chicks, it’s an instant conversation starter! (hehe, just kidding tokiwoki! I love ya babe!)
I personally don’t care, as long as he keeps the crotch area neat and tidy. [sub]*I’m partial to not getting hairs stuck between my teeth, and I make sure that’s not a possibility for whoever’s going down on me also.[/sub]
Damn, I don’t even like when women shave their legs! To heck with this male model stuff. I like to be natural and I like natural women. Mrs. M has never shaved her legs in her whole life, not once. I’m in love with her.
I swim, but have never shaved my legs or anything else. I see plenty of people who do though. I heard one guy once say it took 2 whole seconds off during comp, yeah ok ever think that it might just be the comp and not the hair? Anyway, I think it really only takes around .1 and less of a second off your time. Nothing for someone like me, but maybe everything for the Olympic people. My coach also said once that you don’t shave the inside part of your arms because you WANT some extra resistance on your arm.
When I swam in high school, I shaved for the big meet at the end of the season. I have pretty long legs, and a hairy chest, so I took off a lot of hair. While the lessened resistance was probably minimal, I felt so much faster, that I wound up dropping almost 2 seconds off my 50 free time (not quite 10%) which is a lot. Tapering down (lighter practices a week before) probalby helped, too.
