Just a thought r/c, my wife and I have both substituted at the local schools. The pays not great but it has other rewards. Plus, IIRC the Texas Edu. Sys. is talking about offering many subs. and aids teaching positions in the near future if they are interested and are willing to get the qualifications.
There are enough schools in the area to work everyday as a sub. if not particular about subjects and grades.
The kids definitely need all the help they can get.
As far as just any job goes…Wal-Mart seems to always need somebody.
