Just got an e-mail, and my class tonight is canceled. That’s no problem (although it leaves us with just 2 classes left in the semester before the final…yikes).
That means that my mental schedule for the day is shot, not an entirely bad thing. I was going to head down to campus around 2 and see if I could locate a group study place for tomorrow, but I can wait and do that tomorrow morning.
I’m not tired and don’t want a nap. I’m caught up on my readings. I do need to return a movie…and I can go to Target and pick up a prescription that I dropped off Friday. That’s about it.
Not entirely bad for a Monday I suppose. Makes life simple. I’ll wait to go to Target though, since traffic is usually kind of nutty right around noon.
We had all kinds of tornado warnings last night - though apparently the worst ones were about 40 miles west of here.
It was enough that I got off the computer when the first warning for Knox county came across - if it’d just been a watch, I wouldn’t have stressed about it.
Class is canceled for some other reason though, nothing to do with the tornadoes.
I lived outside Knoxville for six weeks once, and ran into a string of tornadoes that missed me by a little less than a county. Now that I’m in the DC area, we still get them - there was the one last year in La Plata, Maryland, and the one in College Park. Oh, and we too got tornado warnings south and west of Washington this morning.
I was in Nashville for the one that hit downtown in…April 1998, I think. That one was just delightful. It came through downtown, touched down about a mile from where I was working and touched down again about a mile from my apartment.
I still have little hail dings in the roof of my car from that one.
Enjoy the weather today - storms are fun (as long as no one gets hurt).
