Okay, I see your point. Obviously, I read her post out of context. Still, I’d like to make the point that while the death rattle is disturbing, my mother’s death overall was a beautiful and profound thing. I reached her only minutes before her last breath, and was able to whisper to her that I loved her. She squeezed my fingers in response.

Granted. However, not all of the people inquiring as to the outcome were jackals or hyenas, or, in fact, any other carrion eater. I’m going to submit that if you’re asking for advice about dubious behavior, you sort of have some lumps a-comin’.
It still behooves him to post an update once it became clear that the people he came to for advice and assistance with the situation wanted one. It’s obviously not a requirement or anything, but it would be courteous. I’m saying this as someone who didn’t read the original thread until this thread came along, and has no opinion one way or another about Otto’s gambling, alcohol consumption and/or intrinsic honesty and moral fiber.
