So, Polycarp, how you doin'?

Polycarp, no one can do everything for everyone. You’ve been a blessing to more people than you can even know, and the good you do in the world won’t always be revealed to you. Recognize that while you feel like you’ve only helped x number of people, the real number is probably much, much higher. Certainly you’ve helped me, and I bet you never even knew it, didja?

FTR,I love you, Seige**. And I love you, Polycarp. (And the list could go on, but I must get to bed soon) I hope you are both well and taking good care of yourself.

Best,
karol

I agree, I was thinking something similar & was thinking how to word it & then I saw Doc’s post

Poly, you are a fine human being, and a fine Christian; a true example, I believe, of what a Christian should be, as opposed to those who go around shouting about how Christian they are, and how groups X, Y, and Z are going to burn in hell.

You are a Christian, which means that you can expect yourself to do the best you can do each day. You are not Christ, which means you cannot expect yourself to take the weight of the sins of the world on your shoulders.

Of course, I don’t mean to imply that you think you’re Christ, just that you seem to be expecting more of yourself than your Creator has made you capable of giving.

There are many, many people here who love you, and I’m one of them.

Poly, I ain’t gonna hug you, but I will give you The Firm Handshake and Shoulder Cuff of Support.

You’re still on my list of 5 Dopers I want to hoist one with, but for you, it’ll probably be communion wine instead.
