Knowing that I have finally seen, after 30 years, the making of Darth Vader.
And lot of 'SPLOSIONS!

Apparently the person who dueled against Mark Hamill while in the Vader suit was only 6’2" which is exactly the same as Hayden Christensen, so there are ways of getting around the height problem. Or at least making it less noticeable.
An Ewoks TV series! With Christmas Specials!

You can be guaranteed there will be more Star Wars in the future. The franchise is just too big to let sit. Maybe a TV series, perhaps a new series of movies with another director, cartoons, video games… Star Wars is an institution, like Star Trek. They’re cash cows. They’ll never die until the public grows tired of them and they no longer hold the imagination of children.
My daughter is seven years old. She just watched Star Wars with me for the first time this winter. Now she’s a fanatic. She’s watched them all over again, and she likes Attack of the Clones best (go figure). But no other movie has ever grabbed her imagination like that.
Since when has Star Wars EVER been about character development?
Anyway, I’m really looking forward to this. I’m sick of the haters… I liked AotC, and am ready for more!
I doubt there’ll be another director if there would be another movie series, Lucas wouldnt let Spielberg direct one of the more recent ones, despite the fact that Lawrence Kasdan directed ESB and ROTJ, and those are the more lauded of the trilogy.
I’m less interested in how Anakin becomes Vader as to why he apparently becomes Frodo for the duration of this film.
Star Wars three months away? You mean they are rereleasing The Empire Strikes Back, right? Because they never made any Star Wars movie but those two. Nope. Never happened. Two movies, and that was that. Thank Ghu Lucas stopped while there was still life in the idea.
This must be about that ‘Revenge of the Jedi’ rumour that went around after the second movie, right?

I don’t know the details, but I’m quite sure Lucas exerts much greater control over Star Wars. Paramount could order a new Star Trek series whenever they wanted; Fox could not do the same without Lucas’ blessing. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Lawrence Kasdan directed neither, though he has screen-writing credit on both.
Irvin Kershner directed Empire and Richard Marquand Jedi.
Return of the Jedi more lauded than Star Wars? Since when? Most everyone I know thinks that Jedi is the point where the whole franchise started to go down the tubes. Ewoks? Sarlacc pit? Please.
After twenty years of wondering how to properly express my feelings about the Star Wars films, you hit it square on the head. Thanks.
Exactly my thinking. Bring on the light sabers, blasters, wookies, and Natalie!
Well the Wookie army looked pretty cool.
Was it just me or was the music in that trailer handled badly. The last bit of the Imperial March theme just wasn’t a proper ending. The music was building and building but to no real climax.
Episode III is going to be cool. Most of the haters bashing this movie will see it in the theatre within a week of its initial release. Of course they’ll tell you they won’t, but they secretly will. They’ll don a Jedi robe, pull that hood over their heads, and sit way in the back where nobody can see them. They’ll secretly love the movie, but still feel obligated to come online and bash it.
Here’s one hater who just won’t go see it - I only saw the one with the wookies once; that was enough. Haven’t seen Phantom or Clones and don’t intend to. So I guess I’m not so much a hater as a “I find it so boring and don’t understand the whole phenomenon and don’t really care”. (and the only reason I’m in the thread at all is to respond to Lord Ashtar’s post).
Of course his reply was #36, but you just jumped in for that? :dubious:
It kind of reminds me of something I heard about Howard Stern at one point in his career. Of his listeners, the ones that liked him listened for about an hour a day. The ones that hated him listened for two hours a day.
It’s just not in my make up to care about things in pop culture that I don’t like. I won’t waste my time reading threads and posting. I seem to be in the minority though. Different strokes for different folks and all that, I guess.
Oh sure, I hate Jar Jar and their biological explanation of the Force. It still won’t stop me from being at the theater and hopefully enjoying the movie.
Oh I’m definitely going to see it, I just don’t expect awesomeness. If it sucks I won’t be disappointed, and if somehow it achieves awesomeness I will be pleasantly surprised. Episode II was better than I so it’s possible.
Oh, I’ll be there opening night, no doubt. I’ve seen every Star Wars movie since the age of two on opening night, in the same theater. (well, I probably wasn’t there opening night for Star Wars, but I was for the other four.) No way I’m breaking that tradition just 'cause I expect the movie to be a enormous festering pile of crap. Besides, Attack of the Clones was easily one of the five worst movies I’ve ever seen in my life, and I fully expect RotS to be even worse. I’m talking Manos territory, here. How can I miss something like that?
I’ll probably pass on the Jedi robe, though.
