So, Star Wars is just under 3 months away...

…get out your lightsabers, Revenge of the Sith is coming to a cinema near you soon!

I hear the movie’s going to be very dark and much more adult orientated and even though it still lacks blood with probably have a PG-13/12A rating.

So what are you looking forward to most about the movie?

Personally I can’t wait to see the Anakin/Obi-Wan duel which is supposed to be 12 minutes of uninterupted action, as well as Yoda and Sidious dueling… Yes I’m very much an action junkie.

Trailer

That trailer looks really, really bad.

If you google “Ep. III spoilers” you can even find out how Mace Windu dies and who is stronger, Yoda or Darth Sidious.

I’ve always assumed that the guy who ends up in charge of a galaxy-wide empire is stronger than the guy who ends up hiding on a fetid backwater shithole of a planet for the rest of his life.

I’m looking forward to the death of Jar Jar Binks.

Jeez, that is just terrible. 12 freaking minutes of sword-fight? That is just plain boring. The swordfight in Pirates of the Caribbean (9 minutes) was already unbearably long)
I would rather have them spend some time on insignificant details, like ummm…character development.
I have lost all believe in George Lucas’ capabilities as a director.
I will wait until it comes out on DVD and just rent it.

I’ll probably go see it in the theater. I hate myself that much. That and I’ve already put myself through two of these abominations. Why stop now?

I will say that the spoilers I read sound interesting and the photos look interesting. I just don’t want to see how Lucas mucks it all up.

Sort of a “You know you’re going to see it anyway, so it doesn’t matter what we show you” trailer.

Considering that this will be the last Star Wars movie George Lucas produces, and that it will almost certainly in the eyes of the fans sink the franchise, it’s rather appropriate that the plot is about how the forces of evil betray and destroy the Republic and the Jedi.

Maybe twenty years from now, after the franchise has passed into new hands, there might be a “New Hope”? 'Till then, I’ll go wait out in the desert somewhere. Or a bayou?

The contingent at the Cannes Film Festival is going to hit this movie like Sonny Corleone at a tollboth. Lucas should have allowed the films to ostensibly be about Vader, while writing and directing them as the story of Kenobi.

I’ve really become disillusioned with the whole franchise, which makes me sad. I’ll still see the new movie, though I won’t be waiting in line for 3 hours at the Cinerama this time. Well, not unless my boyfriend asks VERY nicely.

I’m hoping RotS (Rots! Hah!) will be very dark and depressing, more like Empire than Jedi. Enough with the happy fun ball, we need some angst!

I agree.

Lucas should borrow a page from the climactic scene of Sanjuro (or maybe it was Yojimbo, i don’t remember for sure). The two combatants stare at each other motionless for about 30 seconds, then burst into a flurry of action for about 5, then it’s all over.

I was at a comic convention a week ago (my first ever, believe it or not) and they were selling shirts Revenge of the Shit t-shirts. You know, if there’s a cottage industry built around how bad your films are, maybe that’s a sign to just throw in the towel.

I know its popular to bash Lucas but I think it looks great.

A twelve minute sword fight seems a bit long but I’m still looking forward to it. The FX, of course, look and sound fantastic. I’ve been anticipating the full story of Anakin/Vader since I was a little kid.

I think we’d all like to see JarJar suffer in some horrible way.

I guess this is as good a place as any to say:

I didn’t watch the other three until I was an adult. I’ve never read the books. I don’t know the story, except generally.

So I don’t know: who becomes the Emperor. Exactly how Anakin becomes Darth. Or what happens to Amidala. I have avoided any spoilers strenuously so I don’t ruin it for myself.

I don’t think they are GREAT movies but they still have charm in them. And some of it is redeemed by me genuinely not knowing what’s going to happen in the next movie. (I didn’t read this thread, either).

-Keeping my innocence pure!

Am I the ONLY one who is sick and tired of everyone bashing SW?

That being, said, I’m looking forward mostly to

The duel.

I’m really looking forward to the four minutes of hardcore Wookie sex that Lucas will be including on the DVD as an extra.

Mostly, though, I’m just looking forward to it being over.

Unless, of course, if the rumours are true and there will be a TV series.

I’m really looking forward to finding out how exactly becoming Vader makes Anakin a foot taller.

Yeah, the helmet probably helps, but Vader was huge- David Prowse was chosen for the part purely because of his size.

If I ruined it for you by revealing what happens to Anakin, sorry

The droid fitting his new prosthetic bones had a floating-point error.
