So the governor of South Carolina is MISSING?

I agree, that’s the first one I read too. A rolicking good book.

And in this case, Sanford has previously made at least one public statement about this topic in reference to former Pres. Clinton’s affair(s).

Nah, the hypocrisy works both ways. Obviously, Sanford is a fool for doing what he did. But before Democrats talk about Republicans being hypocritical for posing as defenders of traditional marriage, recall that the feminist-touting Democrats did and still do warmly embrace women abusers Ted Kennedy (criminal coverup of his apparent manslaughter of Mary Jo Kopechne)and Bill Clinton (accused of aggravated rape and multiple sexual assaults, not to mention the Lewinsky matter, which feminists always claimed was a firing offense when done by non Democrats).

Hypocrisy by anyone should be condemned, not just when Republicans exhibit it. Sure, Larry Craig rightly earned ridicule, but somehow Barney Frank is still a Democrat leader despite a Gay Prostitution ring being run out of his Washington house. Let all politicians be judged by the same book, and not just when it’s your own party on the line. In reality, of course, it’s much easier, and satisfies our ape brains, when we circle the wagons around our own party’s criminals and taunt the opposition when convenient.

Of all the weekends to cheat on your family… Just cold.

Jezebel’s post Top 10 Ways Politicians Confess to Extramarital Affairs is a pretty good read. It really is the most fun, though, when the fuckers want to tell everyone else when and who they can screw and marry. My lord, boys, keep it in your pants.

As long as we’re throwing out things that people were accused of, regardless of proof, why did you leave off Clinton’s drug dealing and murders?

If Larry Craig’s roommate were the one caught in that airport, I don’t think many people would have cared.

Just because Sanford is now guilty of similar things doesn’t mean he wasn’t right. In fact, it is because he was right the first time that he has to go now.

The issue with Clinton wasn’t sex, but an affair with a subordinate that likely was an ethics violation, plus various acts of obstruction, using employees of the government to conceal your affair, and false testimony (sticking to those things that were proved). In this case, the issue isn’t sex, but dereliction of duty - the man left the state for days and couldn’t be easily be reached.

In both cases it entails a politician that has lost the public trust to a degree, and the public and its elected representatives has to deal with that now.

They can’t practice what they preach. I think it is a job requirement or something.

For anyone that was curious, here’s the poll showing where Patterson loses sight of New York to Spitzer.

Although your attempt at not understanding my point has already been addressed by others, I’ll also address it.

Democrats haven’t spent the last however many years condemning gays, condemning feminists, condemning non-Christians, condemning anyone who isn’t an evangelical Republican, and in some of these cases, actively denying equal civil rights to those people, and then turning around and having affairs and engaging in behavior that they condemned in others. And then expect either 1) to not get caught or 2) to be forgiven.

Sigh Okay, that’s it. I’m starting my own party: Sane and Thoughtful Conservatives Who Respect Their Opponents, Practice What They Preach, And Are Not In Any Way Affiliated With The Republican Party. Who’s joining me?

looks around

Anybody?

Shouldn’t Father’s Day be all about what Daddy wants?

Well, Daddy wants some Southern Hemisphere poontang.

Wonder how this is going over in Argentina? “Aren’t we men here in the land of the tango fortunate? Our women are so hot that even Americans leave their wives and come down here to get some”, right?

Uh huh. But some Democrats condemn greed while maintaining pretty comfortable lifestyles, some preach environmentalism while owning a fleet of cars, boats and planes, some condemn other peoples guns while either keeping up their own home arsenal or hiring bodyguards to protect their precious hides. Some go after the tobacco companies tooth and nail while puffing away at the cancer sticks themselves - our own President falls into this category.

So Democrats give themselves a pass on sex. Big deal. It doesn’t mean that hypocrisy can’t be easily found within that party. And since hypocrisy is a far lesser sin anyway than legitimizing vice, I don’t see what the big deal is.

I’ve been there - spent about three weeks “along the coast”. There is some truth to this.

You know better than that. There were cover stories, some of which you’ve tried manfully to list, but at heart, yes, it was about the sex. Most of Starr’s $40 million porn novel was about the sex. Why else would Gingrich and Livingston have fallen on their own swords when their own affairs came to light, right around the vote?

The list of those things is much, much shorter than that. But you know that too.

No, it’s about the sex. And hypocrisy about sex.

So basically, cheating democrats are not hypocrites because they didn’t condemn the behavior in the first place.

I’ve never really understood why people think this is a good rejoinder. Your cheaters aren’t hypocrites because they never claimed to stand for “family values” anyway. Gold star, I guess.

You know damn well that “family values” is code.

Agreed. When I run for office I will be ambiguous about my feelings on murder for hire, that was if I ever get caught paying someone to kill my wife, then I can take the moral high road…

Why did Eliot Spitzer resign?

Why did Jim McGreevey resign?

Why is John Edwards’ political career over?

Break up sex can be real hot. But he is being so old fashioned. He was supposed to break up by twitter. Technology has made such decisions a lot easier.
He went to Argentina to get his" package stimulated."
When will people quit looking to religious leaders and politicians to show them the way to live their lives? The horn dogs have been doing this stuff for generations. Women are one of the fringe benefits of a successful career. They have been getting rock star political groupies for a century. Even Kissinger was having affairs with Hollywood stars. That gives me chills. Kissinger and Jill St. John was so wrong.
