Watching the Osbornes the other night (the one were Jack “kills” the dog in his sleep :dubious: ) and during the credits they show Ozzy blowing take after take of the same (easy) lines. So are they admitting officially now that the show was pretty much faked all of the time?
Weren’t they claiming the first season that it wasn’t? What the heck is going on?
Not a big fan of the show, just curious.

Question: The season finale of The Osbournes showed Ozzy reading from a cue card and a director yelling “Cut!” Does this mean that the entire two seasons were scripted? — Mary in Orlando
Matt: No, I think it means they were having a little post-modern joke on the viewers, as if to say (as if we hadn’t already figured it out) that the reality of The Osbournes is only so real. I got a handful of questions about this peculiar episode. Marcus D. wrote in to ask, “Does the finale of The Osbournes mean that the show should be removed from the reality categories at the Emmys and be entered instead into the Outstanding Comedy Series categories?” Ha. But seriously, the thought of the show in its current overexposed and tired state winning anything makes me shudder. Another e-mail from Davajoy sought “some sort of reasonable explanation” for the episode. “My personal feeling is that the show and the family have lost all credibility. Remember the old tag line, ‘Is it live or is it Memorex?’ Well, is it real or is it one big joke on loyal viewers? Is Ozzy really that bad off? Did Sharon really have cancer? Is Jack really not gay? Does anyone care at this point? I say call the ASPCA and get them to rescue Minnie and the rest of the normal ‘animals’ of that house and call it a day.” Personally, I’m all for calling it a day. I did that with The Osbournes a while ago. On Tuesday nights, my idea of appointment TV is no longer this family, but Nip/Tuck, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, even MI-5 over this.
