Well, that was pretty good. Did everybody else have the repeated “jack the ripper” section after the commercial break?
I thought it was funny and a fitting end to the show.
I wonder if the final shot - of Ozzie repeating the “I love you all but you’re all fing mad” line over and over was a real outtake or was it acted?
Great ending to some hilarious television. I bought it hook, line and sinker.
Keith–me too and I was PISSED when they revealed it to be a hoax. Man…that really bished my cheese.
Are they going to do a 3rd season or was last night the last show ever?
IDBB
I was so upset over Jack supposedly killing Minnie that I almost had a meltdown right then and there!! I also bought it hook line and sinker! While I was relieved that it was all staged and Minnie and Sharon were ok, I felt like a major doofus for falling for it. Not sure if it’s the last season or not. I assume the whole thing with Kelly storming out of the house with her bags was a put on as well. I’m still confused!
Well, I too was fooled, but it makes me hopping mad.
First of all, I don’t know if that weird repeating was intentional. I saw it in EDT and wonder if it was a mistake that was caught later on. It was like in old movie theaters were the projectionist is too stoned/busy/indifferent and puts in the wrong reel. Only TV shows don’t have reels, so I don’t know WTF happened–Kelly’s story seemed to end pretty abruptly.
OK, the big joke was “Hey, we didn’t really kill Minnie!” Of course, the clues were there–the press didn’t find out when they reported poor Lola’s coyote death? Since when does the promiscuous Jack have a nightcam in his bedroom, and why did the Minnie-killing happen conveniently off-camera, etc. But at the time, knowing how violent Jack can become and with the sleepwalking and drug use, I believed it. And it wasn’t funny at all.
The resolution was kind of funny–happy Minnie waving her paws at the camera, the smiling crew, the revelation that Ozzy is actually a damn good actor–but now I’ll never know when to think if something is staged or not. And it was a real “Fuck You” to have the pretend rehearsal be one of the most moving and genuine moments from the first season. I knew they thought this was the last show when they shot it, but Jesus, it was mean.
I’m just a tad confused here too. haha I bought that Jack had killed Minnie, but it was just a little much when Sharon supposedly left the house because it was too hard living in the house where Minnie once lived. haha BUT, when it was shown to be a big hoax I was certainly relieved. haha
It does make me wonder about the whole Kelly and Bert thing. Did they even really break up? She did look awfully dressed up when she packed her bags and left. I wonder if it was staged or not.
And while I’m at it, I couldn’t figure out why Ozzie was putting toothpaste on Jack’s arm. Did I miss something?
Oh yeah, I had that same repeat thing going on too.
Forgot to mention that above.
They had me, hook line and sinker too.
I’m sitting there hugging my dog, on the verge of tears. I could acutally feel Jack’s guilt and panic.
Bastards!
I don’t think Kelly and Bert broke up, he was there at the end wasn’t he?
The toothpaste was because Kelly supposedly bit him there, but I think there was a screw up and we missed a middle segment or something, so they played the end segment twice.
The whole Ozzy outtakes at the end left me wondering: “have they been jerking our chain this whole time?”
I don’t know that they’ve been jerking the chain for all three seasons because if so, it’s been a massive hoax in which all the writers have kept quiet, all the commentaries from the first season DVD were also scripted, and the press has never found it out. Seems too odd.
I guess we’ll have to wait for the repeat to decipher the middle section repeat. I think it was a mistake and I’d be interested if foreign viewers got the same thing.
I don’t think the whole series was scripted, but i think Ozzy was putting on a show - sluring, stuttering, bumbling around like he was lost, ect…
