So... The Pro Bowl

Figured I would make a topic for the four or five people here planning on watching it. (It’s not like there’s anything else on tonight).

I’ll admit I’m pretty much only watching it to see if Hester gets a TD return.

It’s football, sort of. What’s the over/under tonight, 80 points?

It is a good game for one reason, though. Tom Brady is starting in it.

So, why on earth did they think I wanted to see Tony Seragusa hanging out on the beach? The game hasn’t even started yet and they’ve lost me.

LOL, I have seen harder hitting in High School Powder Puff games. Might as well break out the flags.

This may make it a little more interesting. 40 years of pro bowling and the AFC has 20 wins and the NFC has 20 wins, who will break the tie? This crap has to be scripted. Actually I guess it would be more interesting next year to see if the loser of this year can tie things up again. The NFC pretty much held the series throughout the 40 years and had controlled the series for 26 years before the AFC took the lead in 2003.

I would guess the best Pro Bowl game was in 2004 when there was a combined 107 points which I didn’t get to see but I read through the details and it sounded amazing. One team thrashed the other in the first half and the other team made an amazing comeback to win in the second half thanks to… Mark Bulger. I always thought he was to blame for the Rams suckyness but I’m guessing now it was his protection. I wonder what channel the Pro Bowl is on.

Huh! Totally forgot about it. But I’ll be watching the SAG awards tonight.

Let me know if anyone hot turns up without a shirt on…

Wow, this is turning into a NFC slaughter. So much for the QB advantage with no blitzing.

Don’t we always? It’s like the remote just skips over that channel. I have never accidentally ran across the Pro Bowl. I have never seen a glimpse of the Pro Bowl. I like football and the idea of all the best players on one team sounds just so all starish that I want to see one. I just don’t have the will power this year. Maybe next year

A fortyburger! With four and a half minutes left to go in the first half!

How appallingly awesome!

I’ve seen about 8 plays tonight. They’re playing 2-hand touch (at least the AFC defense) for the most part, and the pass rush and blocking paddycake at best. Horrible. The NFL should shut the Pro Bowl down if it’s not going to be football.

It’s never been football.

Just like the NHL ASG isn’t hockey (and wasn’t, once again, earlier today: 11-10 Nicky’s All-Stars).

Since ratings were so high (comparable to World Series–WTF???), they won’t “shut it down.”

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the final play. Just say no to crack.

I turned it on, watched about four plays, threw up in my mouth and then changed the channel.

This should be the advertising tag line for next year’s game.
Maybe, just maybe, the scrapping of the pro bowl can be an outcome of the new CBA. That’s a win/win… for players and fans, anyway.

We could replace it with a regular-season game in Honolulu, maybe even the Thursday Night season opener, with teams rotating as the home team.
