From what the 9/11 wackos tell me even the FBI has not added the 9/11 charge against him because lack of proof. I know he confessed to it on a video I have heard that video was released by the military and some experts say it may not be his voice. I know anyone interview was released in December in which he denied any involvement. Also why didn’t the US show the Tailiban the evidence we had. I do not beleive in the conspiracy theories and know OBL is behind it I am just asking for the smoking gun that cannot be refuted or argued that leaves him responsible, he has both admitted to and denied involvement
When did he admit to the attacks? I remember a video of him praising them, but admitting responsibility?
Osama bin Laden is the (co) leader and a major financier of the organization that carried out the attacks, and probably had foreknowledge, and is certainly guilty by association, but I don’t think there is any concrete proof that he was personally involved in the planning and execution, and he obviously didn’t “do it” in the sense that he wasn’t on any of the airplanes and as far as anyone knows he has never set foot in the United States.
I could’ve given you more details when “The Looming Tower” by Lawrence Wright was fresher on my mind. Check it out; it’s a good book.
Yep, no involvement. Two years later or something he finally said on a video tape that he was involved, but even that’s fishy.
I did see a discovery channel show showing the person who planned it with some dubious links to OBL, but nowadays I really need some solid investigation and multiple sources.
It’s like the proverbial hit man. Marcia wants Alice dead. She pays Jan to hire a hit man, who doesn’t but pays Cindy to hire a hit man, who pays Greg to hire a hit man, who pays, Peter to hire a hit man, who pays Bobby, who finally kills Alice.
So Marica clearly didn’t kill Alice. She’s innocent. But without her starting the chain, Alice would be alive. This is the kind of thinking that goes on.
This is similar to a problem we had ten years (and more) back with Chicago Public Housing. We had grandmothers, taking in their grandkids and hiding them from the cops, when the kids were running drugs. The grandmother was like, “I’m innocent, all I’m doing is giving my grandson a place to sleep for the night.” The cops would say “But you know he’s using your flat to hide drugs and evade the cops. You should be turning him in.” Well the community was in uprage that the police should ask little old grannies to rat out their grandkids. As the thinking went “It was the cops job to catch the druggies, it wasn’t the grandmother’s responsibility to do so.”
And the debate raged on till someone with some brains said “OK enough of this, this is public housing and if you want to live here will make it a requirement of your lease that “No illegal drugs” can be on the premise, and if they are we’ll throw you out.” Then they started doing it.
Unfortunately this is the kind of thinking Americans have accepted. The “I can do what I like so long as I’m actully not involved.”
People use this to pick things apart and prey upon others who can’t fathom facts. If you have a 3rd grade education, you’re never gonna understand why when a plane crashes into a building it doesn’t leave a “crash shape,” like it does on a Warner Brother cartoon. Yes, there are people who don’t understand why, if a plane really crashed into a building, doesn’t the hole in the building have an “airplane” shape to it.
The authorities aren’t stupid, they only release what they want. They want OBL, but the want others too. OBL as shown didn’t fly those planes and didn’t plan it on a day to day level. But if you just dumped evidence onto the Internet then anyone who was complicit in those crimes can see how he’s being followed and cover his tracks up.
Do you have evidence that some 9/11 “Truthers” disbelieve the official explanation for this exact reason?
Well, they typically point to the Pentagon and want to know why there isn’t an easily-visible plane in the wreckage. You know, with obvious stuff like wing-shaped wings.

Maybe they should send that guy who caught Helen Thomas on tape. Looks like those kids have such an incredible influence on people to tell their deepest secrets held for decades. Or, maybe, there is a tape already, it’s just “someone” is sitting on it waiting for better market value to come along.
Really? You’d think that the concept that crashes are messy would be pretty obvious.

ETA: Still, not being able to see obvious plane parts in the wreckage and finding it suspicious isn’t the same as expecting planes to make plane-shaped holes in buildings.
I seem to (dimly) remember a video of him saying, among other things, that he didn’t expect the complete towers to collapse, only perhaps the top floors, and that the complete collapse was a welcome surprise.
Of course, I could easily be misremembering things, and I have no cites to back me up.
That’s an oversimplification. IIRC, it wasn’t, “Why isn’t the hole plane-shaped?” but rather, “Why, if there aren’t any wing holes, isn’t there enough wreckage on the lawn to account for the wings?”
There was a video from October 29, 2004, aired on Al Jazeera (transcript of English translation). Bin Laden talks about what he says was the decision-making process that led to the September 11 attacks.
There was also a videotape released in December 2001 by the Pentagon, which said it had been found in Afghanistan during the U.S. invasion. It was that tape on which bin Laden reportedly talked about being surprised by the complete collapse of the towers.

Try the 9/11 Commission report. It only came out in 2004.
