I believe that BPC ’s assertion, which HeweyLogan was responding to, claimed that racist reaction to Obama’s presidency was ‘extreme and continued for eight solid years’.
While I agree that this is true, what it fails to address is to what degree it existed as a percentage of the country’s white conservatives and Republicans. Surely in a country of 340 million people and 130 million or so voters, nothing whatsoever can be deduced from a handful of examples about how endemic racism actually is among those who vote Republican.
My own humble guess is that there are more people making false accusations of racism based on nothing but routine political opposition than there racists who oppose Obama and his presidency simply because he’s black.
Do I really need to tell you what you can do with your “humble guess”???
