Yet you decided to click on the thread I started. Good work.
I’ll go a step further: Magellan01’s disparagement of Ms. Davis compels me to wonder if my own estimation of her needs to be adjusted upwards. After all, he’s wrong, and foolish-wrong, and stupid-wrong, about everything else, so what are the odds that’s correct on this? Pretty long, I’d say.
So this monster of a woman . . . legally bought some guns, and then got charged as an accessory to a crime because of an ill-conceived law.
This apparently makes her “scum”. Despite the fact that the person calling her that is a conservative and (I feel same assuming) an advocate for gun rights.
This illustrates the fact that “conservatism” in the United States nowadays is something with no actual intellectual basis – any principles conservatives claim to espouse, like gun rights, are really just slogans that they shout when it’s useful, not actual ideas they believe in. Being a “conservative” has as much ideological basis as being a supporter of a sports team. Angela Davis is on the other team so she’s “scum”, and as this magellan01 has illustrated, any reason for that other than that she’s on the other team is just a flimsy rationalization made up on the spot.
I disagree with the politics of many/most of the people on the wall, but I think that their inclusion makes perfect sense and I have zero problem with it. Not so for Davis, for the reasons mentioned.
What ill-conceived law are you referring to?
And for the record, I didn’t write anything about having a problem with her being able to buy guns.
Definitely. I’m sure that Condeleeza Rice, for instance, is fuming, “I played a role in killing several thousand American soldiers and tens of thousands of Iraqis and I have to share space with some piker who helped off a single judge? It’s an outrage!”
Not to mention she broke Khadaffi’s heart.
Ah, a true idiot shows up. Then again, maybe you’re smarter than the rest…at least you’re of the mind that she did play a role in the judge’s abduction and murder. Good for you.
“Whatever is your reasoning in finding Angela Davis an admirable role model?”
“Well, this dude on the internet, calls himself Magellan01, has a lot of animosity towards her…”
I gotta say, you’re on a roll today.
Elucidator is probably banging his head against the wall. It takes him 6 or 7 months to happen upon two things that are actually funny.
Say. Take a look at this.
Jennifer Lopez, Chelsea Handler and Laura Bush honored at Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
What does this tell us about the state of glamour in this country? Do we really want someone who killed a man by running a stop sign to grace the company of J-Lo and HorseTeeth McGee like this?
Oh, right. I’m the only one.
I just wanted to mention, magellan01, that this is a really silly comparison. Firstly, no one is talking about “Greatest Black American.” You said it’s merely a list of “Black women paving the way to greatness in politics,” whatever that means. It’s not “Black Women Who are the Best People Ever.” Secondly, Simpson, while a horrible human being, would nevertheless have a perfectly valid claim to a list of “Great Black Athletes.”
No, man, I’m saying I had a little animosity, right up until I learned that you hated her. At that point, I started reconsidering my judgment–if you hate her, how bad could she be?
Are they naming AK47 ammo Rice now?
And yet that’s the only actual complaint that you can come up with about her.
Nice save.
Credit where credit is due.

I must be in a good mood, I don’t even feel like jumping on the pile-on. ![]()
Reading comprehension just ain’t your strong suit . . . is it ((magellan01) (Parentheticals included for the (sugar-free ;)) idiot.))?
