So.....what did you get?

I wound up getting a lot more stuff from **Gr8Kat **and her family than I expected.

From **Kat **and Master Control, I got:
[li] “The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition” as told to Ira Steven Behr[/li][li] “If Britain Had Fallen” by Norman Longmate[/li][li] The Director’s Cut of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
[/li]From Kat’s family, I got:
[li] Two oven mitts and two pot holders from her mother (I needed them)[/li][li] A $25 gift card for Wal Mart from her mother[/li][li] Eight lotto tickets that I won around $20 for from her mother[/li][li] A gourmet hazelnut chocolate bar from her sister
[/li]And from MC’s family, I got:
[li] A nice button down shirt from his mother
[/li]I also found out the check I’m expecting from my dad is for $100 and the present from my sister is another $100 check. Not bad.

A mongo box set of, like nine Hitchcock films, three of which I’ve never even seen.
Swell plaid shirts and a pair of cavalry twill trousers, from Orvis.
A 5th of Jim Beam, for the egg nog of course.
A Victorinox Swisstool, basically needlenose pliers with all kinda Swiss Army gear inside the handles.
A 22 piece precision screwdriver & tool set, with which, in combination with the Swisstool and the Jim Beam, I could theoretically perform my own oral surgery and SAVE $$$$$!!!

From my loving daughter I got one of those little round trampolines to do mounts and dismounts from our new bed (one of those really tall ones that you have to buy special sheets for and when I sit on it my feet hover 6 inches above the ground)

And Mr Sin and I gave each other a night at the 4 seasons with a couples massage. Yes I think it will definately be a good year

Many wonderful and thoughtful gifts that I won’t mention here, however, I simply must mention:
Homedics Anti Gravity Massaging Recliner with heat.
Much better looking than a clunky old lazy boy, black leather. It has a remote control and a zillion massage and heat variations to choose from, speed, strength, pattern of massage.

I am not a fan of the recliner in general, there is absolutely no room in the livingroom for it. I was a little dubious when I opened it, we waited till today to assemble it because we has so much company yesterday. That was earlier today, at the moment, however, I’d be willing to trash the rest of furniture and just keep this.

I loooove it !

I gave my wife a set of All-Clad cookware, a sweater, a couple of computer games (Dungeon Siege and Final Fantasy), the new Dennis Lahane mystery novel, some perfume, and lots of little stocking stuffers.

My daughter got a Nintendo Gamecube and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (also for the wife - they play Final Fantasy together on their Gameboy Advances), a rock tumbler, all the “Mad Scientist’s Club” novels, Final Fantasy I and II for Gameboy, and a bunch of other toys and games.

I got a custom Pennywhistle from Sweetheart Whistles. It’s very nice, but I’m not sure it plays any better than my $10 Clarke whistle. It’s a lot louder though, so if I decide to do some jamming it’ll be good. I also got Doom3, a new sonic toothbrush, and some stocking stuffers. But my biggest present I got before christmas - speakers for my home theater. Paradigm studio series surrounds and center channel.

It was a great Christmas.

I got:

 • Gift cards to Wal*Mart and the Home Depot. YAY!
 • “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” on CD
 • A brand new out door cooker. YAY! YAY! YAY! From Sweetie.
 • A ton of homemade cookies and candies.
 • A ton of fried apple pies. YAY! YAY! YAY! Thanks Mom!
 • A big fuzzy throw that will have my name on it soon
 • A chef’s apron with my name embroidered on it
 • An adult sized sippy mug (I spill coffee once and my sister will not let me forget it!)
 • A big, wild, noisy Christmas Day with my family. The best gift of all.

I gave:

 • An out door cooker. Sweetie and I gave em to each other.
 • Gift cards to Wal*Mart (sister), JC Penney (Mom) and Home Depot (BIL. This was a chip in gift with my brothers for all the stuff BIL has been doing around Mom’s house)
 • Perfume to my youngest niece. I still don’t know what it is but apparently it is the perfume for 13 year old girls. She squeed big time over it.
 • Remote controlled SpongeBobSquarePants cars to two great nephews. A See and Say to one great nephew and a remote controlled BatMobile to the other great nephew.
 • Silver bracelets, necklaces and hair barrettes to the two great nieces. They are such girly girls! They squeed so I know I did good.
 • A set of Coca Cola glasses, which, oddly, so I thought, got squeed over.

Christmas was fun.

Bolding mine… Swampy, I’ve never heard of squeeing until now, and I have to say: I love it! I can actually picture/hear her doing this. You’re a good Uncle if you made your neice do this, to be sure.

I also would like to say no matter what we all got by way of goodies this year, I hope that each and every one of us had wonderful holidays… and that our New Years will be filled with much laughter, love and cheer.

I love all of you guys. Blessings to all.

Dazz

I got bunches of nice stuff, but the best was spending the day with my family. Almost as good: the 2 foot aluminum Christmas tree my nephew gave me. It’s a repro but I don’t care. It is soooo cool. Next year I’m going to deck it in all pink ornaments and get a color wheel. The present I gave that I think the receipient appreciated the most? To my niece, a red pocketbook trimmed in white feathers. On the front is the “I Love Lucy” heart. She does love Lucy. Present to myself: DVD player and sometime this week I’m going to buy me a new TV. 24 inch flat screen. My current TV is 20 years old.

I got lots of cool stuff:

 • A pretty white sweater and a Snoop Dogg CD from my husband. We weren’t going to buy each other gifts because we already got a futon and a freezer for Christmas (plus we’re getting a big-screen TV and a DVD player/burner/VCR this week), but got each other a couple of small things anyway.
 • Some really awesome tall glass tealight candleholders from my dad and stepmom.
 • A pizza oven from my grandma (for both my husband and me).
 • A jewelry set which includes a watch, earrings, necklace, and bracelet from my mom.
 • A big yellow hoodie sweatshirt from my niece (we draw names and she had my name).
 • A magazine subscription from my other grandma.
 • We also do a $5 gift exchange and I got some Bath & Body Works soap and a Santa picture frame.

What I gave:

 • For my husband, a travel Texas Hold 'Em game and a Donnie Darko DVD.
 • For my dad and stepmom, one of those light-up reindeer lawn decorations (they asked for it) and The Manchurian Candidate on DVD.
 • For my mom, a gold chain and a chenille throw blanket (both of which she picked out).
 • For my brother-in-law, whose name I drew, a Cabela’s gift card.
 • For my sister-in-law, whose name I drew, a bracelet.

We still have my husband’s family Christmas to do this weekend, so I’ll be getting and giving more on Saturday!

MWAH Dazz. Right backatcha! My niece also got her very own computer for her room for Christmas. I was not there when she opened it but I imagine a lot of squeeing ensued. I still can’t believe my sis and BIL let her have a computer for her room but the BIL has it set up so he can monitor everything she does, so it sounds like it’ll be ok. She also got a webcam. Last night we waved and made kissy faces to each other over the puter. That was fun.

A black leather jacket–was this the year for those, or what? Since I got mine, I’ve noticed a few hundred other people wearing them. Did they have them all along?

Reservoir Dogs on DVD

Thirty dollars cash

A Happy Bunny T-shirt (“It’s cute how stupid you are”) from my daughter, who is already trying to borrow it back

A sweater

A couple of watches, earrings, and pins from my mother. Hello? I haven’t worn jewelry for years! However, one of the pins is quite hilarious, seeing that I’m a straight female: In rhinestones, the capital letter I, then a heart shape, then a cat shape. To me, this pin says, “I love pussy.”

Homemade fudge and cookies

A down comforter

Other odds and ends. A pretty good haul, I must say.

Damn! That’s what I wanted!

Well, instead of listing everything that was purchased for me, I will simply tell of the best gift ever: My Friend Q!
He’s in the Air Force, stationed in Asia, and we did NOT expect to see him this year, but I got my Q for Christmas.   I just can’t explain it, so I won’t try. Just understand that I was Mrs. Ba-Humbug this year until I got his email saying that he’d be home for Christmas.

Oh - and hubby bought me Sims 2.

My parents *really *surprised me by giving me some serious cash to put towards the house I want to buy. They borrowed a doll house from some friends and put $100 bills on the roof like shingles. I may be 26 but, to borrow swampbear’s word, there was some major squeeing. My mother tends to be, shall we say, fiscally conservative, so this was quite a shock.

They also got me two orchids - for my birthday actually, but my parents gave them to me on xmas day since I didn’t see my parents on my birthday. I was quite excited about those. My parents even researched what kind will survive in my somewhat chilly apt. I just hope my cats don’t decide that the plants look like snack food!

I got a watch from the bf… this was one of the kinds of things where I said “this is what I want” and gave him an item number and a website. He prefers explicit instructions so I do what I can to help.

Other various little things. But those were the three really exciting presents.

Hmm, let’s see…

A pair of white gold and topaz earrings, a big warm NASA sweatshirt, and cash from my dad. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Spider Man 2 on DVD, America (the book) by Jon Stewart, and the new Muse CD from my sister. Two brand new yet already seasoned cast iron skillets, a mixing/measuring bowl, and some barley soup in a jar from mom. This from my neice. Two beaded necklaces, a windchime, a Care Bear Cousins penguin, a Rainbow Brite Sprite, and car CD player installation from my honey. A neat necklace made of ribbons with a butterfly pendant from my honey’s mom.

I seriously racked up.

I got…

an uber cool new computer
diamond and sapphire earrings and necklace
a book
a Fred Astaire DVD
a day at the Spa gift certificate
a shirt
lots of dangly earrings
a wiener dog shirt and calendar
a picture frame
I would have been perfectly happy with nothing at all, I was so excited about what the SO and I were giving. We got our daughter her first car, a 1987 Bronco. Lots of “Squeeeing” going on there.

You know what? Christmas was only a few days ago, so this “waiting on for a month or two” business is crap. I’ve had it for a month or two, but I never said you’d get it as soon as I did. So, umm, yeah. Shut up. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got a crock pot from my sister; she used to live here (for about a year) and has used the crock pot I already own on several occasions. I’m still trying to figure out the reasoning behind her getting me a new (smaller) one. Oh well, I still love her. Kind of… I got this giant “Lean Mean Grilling Machine” knock off from my parents, which is cool. Umm… oh, I got $50 from my grandma.

Nothing from aesiron, though.

Damn, you didn’t keep that for yourself??!??

I got a GPS. I’ve been dying to get into geocaching and now I can. I’ve found two caches already within a mile of my house. Way cool.

I got:

Chai mix, peach tea, candy cane, Russell Stover chocolates, gum, cash, slippers, a sweater, crew socks, undies, a four-piece Pyrex hot food carrier, perfume, baked almond goodies, sachets, car air fresheners, a book on taking care of the folks as they age, another book called The Perricone Promise, an ENT calendar, DVDs of LOTR3, the first two eps of Babylon 5, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I got one of man kinds greatest literary achievments: America (The Book)
I also got a sweet Iced Earth CD: Burnt Offerings.
