I cut it closer to 1:1.
Y’all are washing your hands? I thought that stopped when the mask mandates ended.
Now I get to report on northeastern shortages… Grapes! The local grocery store had a single clamshell of what appeared to be a Moscato variety. I’ve also noticed a significant shortage of chick peas, black beans, kidney beans, saltines, and various Asian sauces. Independent grocery stores don’t seem to have these shortages, but they tend to have fewer items on the shelves anyway.
Hey, have you had any luck with those Outshine juice bars yet? I saw some yesterday at Walmart in Rochester, so perhaps check whichever Walmart is closest to you given they tend to mostly have the same stock store to store.
I’ve seen Outshine bars here in Walgreens.
I did find some Outshine bars in my local Wal-Mart and Hannaford this past week.
They seem to be a very popular item with people buying them faster than they keeping them in stock.
Last shopping trip I bought FOUR jars of Skippy peanut butter. Not that I needed them, or wanted them, but I’d read a story about a possible shortfall of pbutter in general if the Jif situation ran on…
I think I’m turning into a Russian from the bad old days. Supposedly if you saw a line outside a store, you got into it before bothering to ask what it was for. Because either you’d need a [whatever] before it was likely to appear in stock again OR someone you knew likely needed a [whatever] OR you could count on being able to trade your [whatever] for an [alt-whatever] that you actually wanted.
Dunno if you’re near enough to one of the few Sam’s Clubs in NH to stock up for her this way, but they have boxes of 24. Looks like BJs does too.
Following up on this, it seems my brand was just ahead of the curve. It’s essentially gone in the city. I saw the Labatt’s truck making a stop at out local Beer Store yesterday, so I went in to see what had been delivered.
The answer is, “Not much.” Several shelves were completely empty, and most were only around half capacity. I talked to the guy who works there, and he told me the delivery the day before only brought 6 pallets out of the 18 he had ordered. There’s something really off with beer in Ontario right now.
And it’s not limited to just my store. I’ve visited 5 or 6 in the last month or so, and they’re all having problems.
Cannot lay hands on lime sherbet. Could get rainbow, but DH doesn’t care for that.
Not just lime, also haven’t seen lemon (or l/l blends) in over a year. It’s like raspberry and orange have gotten monopoly rights.
We just buy Dr. Bronner’s liquid castile soap (the citrus version), and dilute with water, for our foaming dispensers. A quart bottle lasts something like a year. I would imagine any liquid soap could be used for the purpose.
Lime is out of fashion. Lots of candies have replaced it with green apple.
Thank you for all of the suggestions on homemade foaming soap. I had no idea! Will give these a try soon.
And for some reason I never thought to order online. Which is totally ridiculous because I order online frequently. I ordered some and now I am happily refilling my bottles!
I used to use Dr. Bronner’s castille liquid soap all the time. Did not know it could be used to make foaming soap.
Cake mixes were picked over. I had to go with the store brand of white cake mix, of which there were only one or two boxes remaining.
Then, I cracked a rotten egg directly into the bowl containing the cake mix. So, I had to run back to the store and buy the last two mixes. I never do the crack the eggs into a separate bowl trick. I guess I should start.
Me neither and it totally works. I used the dregs of a pouch of gel soap refill and water and now have foaming soap.
And I finally found diet berry V8 splash!
