So what was the best "Season Finale"?(SPOILERS)

Now that the last of the season finales has aired, what was your favorite?

I loved the CSI:NY/Die Hard episode as well as Criminal Minds .

But the finale to NUMB3RS kicked ass!

I mean, who would have thought in a million years that Mr. Army, Mr. Patriot, Steroid Boy Colby would be a double agent for the Chinese? Totally caught me off guard!

I know that not everyone would agree, but I thought this year’s season finale of Lost was a dandy.

Some Numb3rs irony:

as opposed to star David Krumholtz:

I didn’t like the Numbers finale. Too random. I thought Office was good, however.

Do you mean all time, or just from this season?

I’ll second CSI: NY, that was a great episode.

That’s what I came in to mention! It was an effective shock.

And I also agree that the Office was great…

Doesn’t matter to me, but the spoliers in the first post actually show up in the thread list popup.

Of All Time: Newhart

Lately: Angel

Farscape, season two.

Aeryn is killed by Scorpius. Meanwhile Creighton, having grown steadily madder all throughout the season due to the chip in his brain, finally has it surgically removed … only to have Scorpius walk in half-way through the operation, kill the surgeon, pick up the chip and walk out with it – while telling Creighton that as the chip contains everything Creighton knows, Scorpius now has what he’s been after all this time, so he’s won; and by the way, good-bye – and leaving the brain-damaged Creighton unable to do anything but howl in rage. Damn, that was a helluva cliff-hanger.

I thought the Weeds Season 1 finale was great. The season 2 one was a little less so (they were trying a little too hard).

I second The Office from this year (season 3), with the season 2 finale close behind.

Back when The Simpsons was good, I loved the Who Shot Mr. Burns? cliffhanger and resolution.

Battlestar Galactica Season 3. Jesus Christ…

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 3.

The Best of Both Worlds (Part 1)

“Mr. Worf…open fire.”

To Be Continued…

I agree on the show, but I have to go with Season 1’s finale. Since the OP didn’t specify current or ever.

Babylon 5 season 3.

The captain just jumped into a miles deep chasm, The Shadow’s main city was decimated by a fusion bomb and Garibaldi was abducted by a Shadow Vessel.

See, this is where we get the big difference of opinion. One group is picking cliff-hangers, another is looking for closure. If I was one of the cliff-hanger group, I’d pick “Best of Both Worlds, Part One” from ST:TNG and “Crossroads, Part Two” from BSG.

Agreed, that ending was just…dark, it looked like ol’ Nosferatu had won after all…

Crichton’s descent into Neurochip-induced madness

Aeryn’s plummet to her death caused by the Neurochip-controlled Crichton’s deliberate impact of Farscape One into the canopy of Aeryn’s Prowler

The end of season 5 of The Shield.

Just as Vic is about to get internal affairs off their backs, Lem’s dead and at Shane’s hand. The scene where we see Vic’s reaction on arriving to find Lem dead, Dutch tells him not to touch his body when Vic reaches out to him and the IA guy lashes out at him too is powerful.

Previous seasons ended on a srt of cliffhanger, but nothing so intense. Can’t wait for this to get to the UK

I will agree.
Also, the end of the season finale for Desperate Housewives, while not necessarily making sense re: the character involved, was an eye-widener.
