Mom and I for the past few years have always spent Mother’s Day together at Disney World. Well, this year I got to go to DW with my cousins (went a week and a half ago - definitely fun!). So, for the first time in a while, I had to send mom a present for mother’s day - most of the time, I just buy dinner that night, and that is her gift. I had some good ideas, but I decided in the end to go with the traditional gift - flowers .
So - what are you doing/getting for mom/wife?
Susan
Nothing too extravagent, as my sister and I took her to Venice and Florence as a combo Xmas/Bday gift this year. We have theater tickets (actually season tickets that happened to fall on Mother’s Day), then we’re having dinner and giving her presents (nothing too elaborate - some videotapes and a photo album).
The SDMB’s own jarbabyj has a catering service, so I ordered yummy baskets filled with baked treats and tea for both mother and m-i-l.
My mother lives too far away to visit (although we’ll be seeing her next month), so we’re spending the day with husband’s mom, taking her to brunch and then to the zoo.
I love the zoo. The mother-in-law is okay, I guess.
My mom passed away a few years ago <snif>…
So I’m homouring all my friends who are moms.
Dunno. As it happens, I’ll be in Baltimore this weekend. I need to check with my sibs and see if they’ve planned anything. I can’t remember the last time I was with my mom on Mother’s Day.
Sadly, my daughter will be here in Florida, so she’ll be motherless on Mother’s Day.
Don’t sweat it, Sunspace. My Mother’s Days for a number of years now have been spent visiting cemeteries. First, we go to the one where my Mom is, then we head for the cemetery where my grandparents are.
I hope this doesn’t sound odd, but I look forward to going. It’s always a nice walk through the cemeteries, and with the trees and plants budding and the birds singing, quite a peaceful and pleasant place to spend a spring day.
What I’m doing for my Mom on Mother’s Day?
Graduating!
(Dual bachelor’s degrees.)
That, and taking her out to eat for breakfast and dinner that day. She’s been a big support as I slowly worked through getting my degrees, so it’s nice that the two events co-incide.

AAAAACKK!!
The FTD Rip-Off site!!
Flowers can be expensive as is (i’m a florist, I know this) but the FTD site even TELLS you it’s riping you off. That $11.99 processing fee…
They claim to be a wire service for florists, then go into direct marketing to consumers. ICK! And they still rip y’all off.
We (at the shop I manage) just give you an 800 number for a shop near Mom’s house.
But the mini-roses in the OP are cute. And I am hoping that they handle your order properly. At least you ordered early, so you might even get what you ordered.
