I didn’t even realize yesterday was Veteran’s Day until it was almost over.

Oddly enough, I’m writing a midterm essay on the commemoration of war and victory in ancient Greece.
My grandfather (WWII vet, served at the Battle of the Bulge, purple heart, bronze star, et. al.) passed away this September. I got called on last Thursday to read aloud from the first part of Pericles’ Funeral Oration and lost it in the middle of class.
