I am not a TV geek or afficionado-- Sunday night FOX was the only time in the week I would regularly watch TV, so this affects me-- we kind of had a ritual built up around it. For a while it seemed like there was something worth watching, like someone at some network didn’t think I was a moron.
Ok, so the X-files is gone. So is Ally McBeal. They’re trying to kill off Futurama, and the Simpsons should be euthanized soon, as it’s starting to get sad, like a pet that’s getting old and tired and looks like moving around hurts a bit. I can’t see how Malcolm, which began brilliantly, can’t last much longer as the feel of the show has shifted a lot. The Family Guy seems precarious and only plays sporadically anyway. Millenium is sadly long gone. So what’s in the future? I feel so empty on Sunday nights now. . . It’s been disintegrating, but with the quick kill-off of several shows I have to wonder what’s in the works?
Well, I know that Joss Whedon has been working on pilot for his new show Firefly. Originally it was going to be two hours, and air on Sunday night. However, FOX (in all their wisdom) made him reshoot so it’s 1 hour, and are not airing in on Friday nights.
I honestly believe that FOX is trying to destroy itself. Like the execs there said “Fuck it, we’ll never beat the other stations, much less cable channels, let’s fuck with their heads a bit.”
Well, I just noticed that taking the place of the X-Files slot tonight is:
“Looking for Love: Bachelorettes in Alaska”
As Dave Barry would say, I am not making this up.
Well, FOX is the only network I watch on a regular basis except for the Drew Carey show on ABC wed. But they killed off half the shows I watch. Titus, Undeclared, Family Guy, Futureamma(for the most part) and the SO watched Dark Angel like it was a religion (I used the time to surf and play games). So it looks like I might have to spend time with the family,<homer> stupid Fox and their stupid need to try and make stupid money, now I have to spend time with the stupid kids</homer>. I still got wrestling 2 nights a week and the Sopranos will be back on soon. I will live.

You know, I heard Futurama was cancelled, but it’s on their fall schedule (as posted in this week’s TV guide). They’re axing about half their exisiting lineup, which is a little drastic, isn’t it?? eek. The only show left on FOX that I like will be Boston Public.
Actually They and saban entertainment sold their cartoons and kid shows to disney So dsney now owns Digimon all the power ranger shows (and clones) the spider man series the fox x-man series and tons of others
All the weekend shows are still on fox til there current contract runs out
The also bought the family channel which was fam (pat robetrson thought he could make pax tv about 10 years earlier ) then fox and now its abc family
So other than wb and nick disney now controlls about 70 percent of the cartoons and kids shows made since 92 or 3
Just think if warner hadnt moved the batman toons over to wb years ago disney would own both batman and spider man shows
The fanboy in me drools at the thought of the crossovers while the rest of me is revolted that batman would of been spider-man is been owned by the mouse … well at least on tv anyways
Anyome remeber when fox was only on weekends ? I remeber some horrible anf goofy shows …
“the adventures of beans baxter” A show about a hs kid turned spy whos father was thought dead but was being held my a terrorist network ( all i remeber was his dad was a mail man that could deliver eyes only stuff )
There was a show that was a comedy about a president in the white house It had the dad from diffrent strokes
A comedy about women in prision I forget the other show ,
Sunday had a cool but goofy werewolf show i actually liked maried with children tracy ulman and duets ( which i never watched but i liked the spin off ) gary shandling and i think about this time americas most wanted started
If I remember correctly, the deal is that they technicalled cancelled it and stopped making new episodes, so everyone involved was laid off. But because they barely ever show it due to NFL overruns, they have enough episodes sitting around in the can to run it for another season.
