Silly as it sounds thats always been my favourite name.
I’m a “Gareth” - named by my Arthurian Legend fanatic mother and my welsh rugby fan of a father (which pretty much gives my surname away).
You can call me:
Garius (most people do), G (if you’re lazy), or English (i used to hang around with a lot of Americans) - i will answer to any of them.
Jeanann.
My mom got creative, combining her middle and her mom’s first names. She’s the only one who calls me that; most people go with Jean.
Which is fine with me.
Josef
Peter.
Pleased to meet ya.
Cynthia Ann…hated it as a child but kinda grew into it.
surprisingly enough, Paul.
but I tend to get called Paulie quite a lot. Like in Goodfellas.
or PT.
or drunken idiot that manages to destroy everything whilst drunk.
depends who i’m with.
Martin, but it’s pronounced Throat Warbler Mangrove.
I’m Noel. Pronounced as in Coward not as in Christmas, although I am female. Caused me no end of trouble before I started to look like a girl.
All those in the Fantasy Football leagues and the Diplomacy crowd know my first name- heck, you can get it from my email addy.
I’m Doug, and I’m surprised that there are no others in this thread…
In a like vein, I do not watch King of Queens. I am not a fan of the eponymous Nickelodeon show- I’m too old. Much too old to be called “Dougie.” I am listed on the Page of Dougs. I am the past tense of dig, also snug as a bug in a rug.
I can’t believe I’m the first Jessica, since just about every other girl in my high school had the same name as me. I prefer Jessie, though, otherwise I think somebody’s mad at me.
Mine’s Skip. And like I said in the skipping thread, I don’t.
Appropos of nothing…
At the naval hospital In Gtmo Bay, we had a Cuban national as our hospital seamstress whose last name, when pronounced properly, sounded out as Anus. swear to God. (It was probably spelled “Enis” or something like that.)
I used to fantasize that one day, I would go by her little room and greet her with a Buenas Anus!
But she was just too nice, too refined a lady, so I never could summon up the chutzpah.
Hi everyone! I am Satish.
It’s…Eman.
Short for Emanuel…
Amy. I’m suprised I’m the first Amy so far. It’s a rather common name, really.
Dia, short for Claudia.
Wow, I cannot believe that I am the first Amanda on here. In a class of 58ish there were 5 Amandas at one time! Very common name at the time.
Claryn (Karen with an L, Claire-in) Why can’t people ever pronounce this? It’s really not that hard. Even with tips and hints, they still get it wrong. I wish I had a nickname.
I’m Alison.
Damn and I wanted to be the first Paul here. I too get called Paulie, not that I mind. That’s better than Paula, Pauleena, Pauletta.
