That was actually a funny bit in DK, where Bruce Wayne holds the menu over Dent’s eyes to see if he looks like Batman.

Wasn’t it the Russian ballerina who did that?
Also, the folks who see Batman close up are almost never the same people who see Bruce Wayne close up.

You’re missing the point. I wasn’t talking about realism, but about camp and cartoonishness. The water vaporizer may be scientifically ludicrous, but it wasn’t aesthetically ludicrous. On the other hand, while it is indeed possible to strap a radio controlled rocket launcher onto a penguin, the idea itself is silly. It’s straight out of the '60’s era high-camp Batman. He might as well have defeated the Penguin by throwing a mass-produced fruit pie at him.

For the benefit of those who didn’t grow up in the 70’s and 80’s, Penguins on Parade!
ETA: I’m glad this one didn’t end like I thought it would.

I think of some kind of mix between Se7en and the Zodiac killer… but more twisted.

If they make it the Riddler, they should introduce a few new supporting cast members, not have the Riddler revealed until the end, and include a murder mystery angle in the plot.

These are kind of like how I envision a movie with the Riddler working. I mentioned in one of these threads that his way of dropping hints could be in writing letters to newspapers and the police like the Zodiac killer. Maybe the media can be the one to come up with the Riddler nickname.
The plot would center around Batman’s attempts to catch The Riddler by using his detective skills while having to avoid the cops who will also be investigating.
They’d get around the problem of being overshadowed by The Dark Knight by following it with something different. It would have a different tone, maybe a little more like classic noir.

Ledger’s Joker, though, was excellent to legendary, which is great for the movie, but bad for the Franchise, capital “F.” Not only did Ledger give about as good a performance as you’re ever going to get out of an actor, he did it with the single most interesting and iconic villain in the canon.

I second this. The Dark Knight is the Terminator 2 of the new Batman franchise. As in, it’s the only one that matters. The first movie simply served as a set up for this film, and any film that follows will fall far short of the bar that this one has set.

Dark Knight III: Prepared and Preparederer.
I think it would be cool if Gotham brought in a new detective to try and track the Batman.
It would be cool to harken back to the FIRST issue of Detective Comics by introducing Samuel Emerson Bradley as a character.
