So, which one of the Watchmen would...

yeah, you know.

I was looking up to make sure who played The Comedian & saw a discussion with this theme. I had my expectations who would be most popular. I was astonishingly wrong.

The original question was addressed to straight women & asked which of the WatchMEN but I’m throwing it open.

For me- Silhouette is above & beyond the rest, but she’d have no use for me.
After her, Laurie.

No, I don’t.

There’s things that you guess and things that you know, there’s boys that you trust and girls that you don’t. There’s little things you hide and little things that you show. Sometimes you think you’re gonna get it, but you don’t and that’s just the way it goes.

Oh, and for me it would be . . .

Are we going off the depictions in the film (the OP suggests this query started from looking up casting info)???

If we’re going by the film, then I gotta say the original Silk Spectre/Sally Jupiter- because we’re talking about Carla Gugino and I would have to go with her in any circumstance ever.

There isn’t a question in this post. FriarTed - what are you trying to ask?

Sheesh- which one of the Watchmen would you go for?

I thought this was going to be about which of the Watchmen* would win in a fight, which would be a pointless and obviously-answered question. God exists, and He is American- and no one can defeat him.

*Yes, I know they’re not actually called the Watchmen. At least in the comics, anyway.

Doctor Manhattan. And I want him to do the thing where there’s more than one of him. Maybe… four? Yeah, like four Doctor Manhattans.

The Silhouette would also be awesome. Shit. You know, I’d be happy either way. Or both!

Don’t leave us hanging, what did they say?

Nite Owl II. He’s portrayed kind of wimpy at times - but I bet back in the day . . .

Besides, he seems like he would be the more sensitive of the bunch.

A couple for Dr. M or Night Owl II or Veidt (assuming he wasn’t gay), none for The Comedian, but an overwhelming vote for Rorschach.

They liked his cologne.

I’ve only seen bits and pieces of The Watchman movie on HBO but if I had to pick, I’d take the Comedian because he reminds me of this gent:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commander_USA’s_Groovie_Movies. We would loll around the rec room on a Saturday afternoon, get high, lay in a supply of pizza, sub sandwiches and beer, and deconstruct all those wonderful oddball Saturday afternoon movies. If the Commander and I got together on a Saturday night, same thing, only we’d invite Elvira, too. Good times!

Obviously not Comedian, too sociopath (and a smoker). Or Rorschach, too sociopath also, and also just not generally attractive. That leaves:

Ozmandias: There’s subtext that he might have been into guys. OTOH, he ends up [spoiler for end of Watchmen]. In the comic he was moderately attractive, and certainly fit and brilliant, and rich, but in the film he was somewhat unattractive and slightly sickly looking, with a horrible fashion sense. Probably best as a drinking buddy.

Dr Manhattan: Attractive (and we’ve seen him nude) despite and/or because of his blueness, and basically omnipotent. Although a bit emotionally distant, he still has a basically good moral compass, and tries to please his girlfriend even though from his perspective she’s basically an alien ant. OTOH, he may just be too emotionally distant to have a deep romance with. Probably best for a kinky sex and revealing the secrets of the universe fling. (Unless he could give me his powers).

Owlman: Has gotten a little flabby, but he’s smart, well off, and emotionally available. He’d probably get back into and stay in shape if he had any motivation to. And he’s cute. Has some impotence issues, but they are apparently easily solved by occasional vigilantism. Probably the best option for a LTR.

The young version of Carla Gugino. That woman is hotter than liquid sex.

They’d knock all of your blocks off. One of the more impressive little things in Watchmen was Sally hitting The Comedian when he comes on to her. She doesn’t slap him, she decks him like someone who fights like a superhero for a living would deck him. Yikes!

Having said that, Silhouette.

Well, uh…
I like the guy in the mask…
(disclaimer: have never seen the movie)
:eek::cool:

That’s truly frightening. Any of the rest of them, I can at least see where there might be some appeal, but Rorschach pretty much doesn’t have any notable qualities aside from being completely, utterly psychopathically insane. I mean, the Comedian is pretty psychopathic, too, but at least he’s macho, which I can understand some women going for, but Rorschach doesn’t even have that going for him.
