What’s the deal. I have mIRC at home and it works just fine but I can’t get it to connect here at work! I’ve tried just about everything I know of and nothing is working. It still gives me the message "Unable to connect (Connection timed out). Anyone else have this problem at work and if so, how do I get around it?!?

I have visited this chat room once or twice. There seems to be lots of folks in there. i just go for the constant cyber-sex that happens behind the scenes. That and the circus peanuts.

Chat is a pretty nice place overall. My only single difficulty with it is the high speed at which it moves if the room is full, but I can always read the logs later if I miss something.
The people in chat at this current “era” are good people, who do not typically engage in backstabbing, trash talking, or other hurtful activities. There is a lot of blowing off of steam, and juvenile activity (of which I am a frequent contributor ) There are only a very small number of wandering trolls that come in, and they provide great amusement much more than annoyance (like the tastychry and Ass Clown incident, which instead of being annoying had most of us laughing for hours!)
And Jophiel is a fantastic channel Admin - laid back yet diligent, very easygoing, and very witty and humorous. I’ve been in several chat channels, and #straightdope is run pretty damn well. He deserves a lot of credit.
IIRC, that was actually a blessing. Weren’t we really bored that night?
