Trump’s first named appointment, his campaign manager is to be Chief of Staff. She doesn’t seem to have a lot of experience outside of managing Republican election campaigns. Any clues to where she’s coming from ideologically?
When I was reading Susan Wiles’ Wiki page yesterday, it included these two paragraphs about her daughter:
Following Trump’s inauguration, her daughter Caroline Wiles was hired by the White House as deputy assistant to the president and director of scheduling.[25] The Washington Post noted that Caroline Wiles had an “unusual background for a senior White House official”, noting that her sole educational qualification was an incomplete degree from Flagler College. Caroline Wiles became the fourth-highest-paid staffer on the 2024 Trump campaign, making $222,000.[21]
A further investigation revealed that Caroline Wiles had legal issues stemming from driving while intoxicated in both 2005 and 2007.[26] Caroline Wiles ultimately left the White House in February 2017 after failing a background check by the FBI.[11]
This smacks of corruption on Susan’s part and/or Trump’s part.
And it is interesting that someone deleted these paragraphs from Wiki today.
By all reports she is a intelligent operator and effective apparatchik for the cause.
Just so long as she enables Trump to monopolise the limelight and applause.
Elsewise, once expedient and by precedent, it’s either thrown into the wood chipper or to the riotous angry mob.

I got, from my last link, the implication that Wiles spends a lot of time talking to reporters off the record. I think she’ll share mildly negative info about her boss in order to see her preferred narrative also get newspaper play. I wonder if Donald knows that.
In an assessment from Pod Save America podcast it was suggested that Wiles was the best Republican political operator from Florida … and that the 2nd best was an alligator wearing a hat.
