So who's your same-sex crush? (Or opposite-sex, if you're gay or lesbian.)

In other words, what famous person whose gender does not fit your default sexual orientation do you still think is freaking hot?

My answer is currently the redoubtable Taye Diggs.

Right now I’m kind of crushing on Kaylee from Firefly, though the moment with the nasty stupid mechanic did cool my ardor a bit.

I guess you can throw Inara into the mix, too, provided she wears some of her beautiful half-Indian Companion clothes.

But Kaylee

dumps the mechanic when she sees what a dork he is. Doesn’t that redeem her?

I have to admit that whole scene pretty near horrified me. It was the cheapness and the vulgarity of fucking in the goddamn engine room! where everyone could see you! It would have been different if Kaylee was already working there; at least it would have been *her *engine room, but she…ugh! and for a little while really turned me off Kaylee.

Lauren Bacall circa 1944. Especially in To Have And Have Not.

Actually, I’m not sure about “crushing” on her - I may just want to BE her!

I have a girl-crush on a woman I know IRL! I don’t want to do her, I just think she’s soooo pretty and soooo nice, and … well she has these eyes that just make me want to stare into them. She looks like a qwepie doll!

I think, like zoogirl, I just want to BE her. Or at least be around her.

Easy. Belgian singer Helmut Lotti.

Should I be worried that I didn’t even have to think before answering that question?

I’ve had a crush on Vincent Perez for a long time.

I’m bi, but mostly prefer women, and my most recent same-sex crush was on Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy in Star Trek.

Jennifer Morrison Growwr.

Olivia Wilde All I can say is, Goddayum.

Jessica Biel Love her smile and body.

Emma Watson The confidence and self-worth that she exudes are kind of sexy.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Taryn Southern, the girl from the Hott for Hill video

Lena Olin Beautiful face.

Mila Kunis Gorgeous smile and eyes.

Stauderhorse and Aesiron’s Trek crushes reminded me to post my own same sex crush on Zoe Saldana. Her ponytail and fierce eye makeup set my heart aflutter.

I was slightly taken aback for a second too. But then I thought, they’re on this shitty little world that even Mal calls a ‘shitty little world.’ That’s probably the only way she’ll get to see some of that equipment in person. Plus, she’s a lusty little earth mother, and the guy was dumb but hot.

She was using him. He thought he was exploiting his position to lay a cute little spaceport groupie, when what was really happening is that she found a guy with a great bod and no brain so she could get her grind on as well as manipulate him into getting her on a ship. She wanted to be in the engine room because that’s what she’s interested in. She didn’t care about Mr. No-brain’s cabin. Who wants to see that?

I haven’t had any guy crushes for a while. Japanese media is running to girly-men lately. The nikushoku (carnivore, i.e. manly-men) trend of the 70s and early 80s hasn’t come back yet, and I don’t have much exposure to stuff from the US lately. Two guys I kind of admire lately are Christian Bale and Japanese hammer thrower, Koji Murofushi.

Joan Jett!

And just for fun, the Runaways doing Mama Weer All Crazee Now.

completey bisexual here but huge huge crush on Fergie, love watching her on utube, especially the Fergalicious video with the pink outfit on. and the London Bridge clip at the MTV awards red carpet, love her and her hubby

Russell Brand.

It’s the way he’s effeminate but shagged hundreds of women and his way with words that does it for me.

I’ve been watching the first season of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on DVD, and the sweetly bland and ordinary, but totally courageous (and of course, terribly pretty) women who get swept up into the dangerous world of Napoleon and Ilya are really doing it for me. Oh, la la la, I’m so blonde and naîve and now I’m bravely holding this gun on the bad guys because I was told to, aren’t I just adowable?! I want to give them all baskets of kittens. After I’m done seducing them over to the love that dare not speak its name and all that, of course.

Oddly, the femmes fatale are leaving me cold. The writers did a great job of overcoming their usually more exotic stunning looks with sheer callous evilness that’s really not my cup of tea.

That’s not attraction, that’s envy. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m female, straight, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate looking at beautiful people of either sex.

Stauderhorse: Emma Watson, wow. Of course, part of that is because I want her hair.

Jorja Fox – Maybe not glamorous in the traditional, big-busted, blonde sense, but pretty and, for lack of a better word, intense looking.

Marg Helgenberger (so sue me, I watch a lot of crime shows when I’m in a TV phase)

I’ve always had a big ol’ crush on Bernadette Peters. The biggest thrill of my life was when my chorus sang with her last year. I was like three feet away from her! One of the songs she performed was this one.

Ellijah Wood, and Johhny Galecki and Johnny Depp…drooooooooollllllllllll

Can’t deny that!
