Softball Bat Question

Ever hear of a “team” bat? I just purchased a new Reebok Legend bat. This particular model is sold to the Senior Softball market and is not legal in leagues requiring “ASA” approval. It’s supposed to compete with the Miken Ultra II and the Combat Da Bomb.

I was told it is a “team” bat. I never heard that terminology. Supposedly some bat manufacturers make special runs of bats that they provide to teams who they sponsor. Again supposedly, they are thinner walled than the regular models of the same name which would make it a bit hotter and, consequently, more susceptible to breakage.

Anyone hear of anything like this?

Every bat maker sponsors teams and supplies bats to those teams. Some bats are named after the team, so Legend may be a senior team that Reebok sponsors. I imagine team bats vary, so I couldn’t say if they are generally thin walled. If it’s got ASA, NSA, USSSA or whatever stamped on it, then it still has to conform to those regulations whether it’s a team bat or not.
