Those ubiquitous slideshows with music or narration in youtube, how are they made? Is there free software for making them? I’d like to give it a go. More to the point, people with experience of such matters, which software would you recommend?
One program (that’s free) is Microsoft Photo Story.
I don’t think it’s free, but here’s a video on how to use Quicktime Pro to start with.
Picasa does this (though it screwed my computer the last time I tried to use this) and saves as a WMV (surprisingly - I thought they’d use something more open source).
Also the free-with-XP MS Movie Maker does this too. Here’s one I did using this.
You might already have Windows Movie Maker on your computer; it’s part of a standard XP install … don’t know about Vista. Though not as sophisticated as some software it will actually do just fine for messing around.
