I have a Mathcad file that refuses to admit that it has been closed. I started my computer this morning, ran Mathcad and tried to open the file. I got the message that the file was already open even though there was no evidence of the file contents on the screen. So I shut Mathcad down. Then I restarted it and tried to open the file and got the same message, that the file was already open. Since the file never shows up on the screen I can’t close it and it doesn’t close even when Mathcad is ended and the computer is shut down where do I go from here? It sounds like a bit somewhere on my hard drive is stuck open.
Never mind. I finally came to my senses and ran Norton WINDOCTOR and DISK DOCTOR. I don’t know which one fixed the problem but one of them did.
This brings to mind the time the butt end of my putter grip wore out and there was a flap, like the lid of a can, that was held on by a thin section. I worried and puzzled over how I was going to fix that. Epoxy? No, too brittle. RTV? Didn’t bond well.
Then one evening was was watching Animal Planet and the perfect, and if I may say so myself brilliant, solution occurred to me.
TAKE THE DAMNED THING DOWN TO THE PRO SHOP AND HAVE A NEW GRIP PUT ON.
I was so proud.
